At least I got to see that juggling freak break down after getting rejected.
Somebody needs to tell Paula to stop swaying back and forth and just sit still.

I can't wait to see the 2 freaks they hyped up in the promo tonight.

Oh yeah American Idol just keeps getting bigger and bigger. There were over 41 million people watching in the 2nd hr. The 15.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic was miles better than the other 4 networks combined.
    My god, that's amazing ratings.

I'm actually watching tonight only for those 2 freaks.... I was pretty much bored to tears last night, as I didn't find it nearly as entertaining as in past years. But those freaks made me say "Must See TV"

      Re: *** American Idol: Season 6 ***

I liked how, at the beginning, they were listing off all the accomplishments of the former contestants. For McPhee they said, "you made her America's sweetheart!" Everyone else had some kind of CD that sold well, but she's "America's sweetheart." Which I guess is code for the fact that, despite being our sweetheart, she seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth since last year's show.

Last night was funny, but wasn't as good as previous years, imo. I think that might be because the whole "early round, terrible people who are let through just so they can be ridiculed" schtick is getting a little old. I'm actually looking more towards the actual competition this year instead of the early comedic stuff, which is in contrast to years previous.

So far, quite a dearth of talent though. That one girl with the husand in Iraq definitely wasn't getting to Hollywood if she hadn't been wearing military fatigues because her voice was definitely not that hot. The one girl with the curly brown hair who sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow," she's the only one who struck me as having any kind of poise or talent so far.
      Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

My interest wanes after The Delusionals are gone.

You haven't heard much from her because she has been working on her album which comes out Jan. 30th.

She has a lot of public appearances coming up:

          Jan. 29 - Leno
          Jan 31 - Today Show
Feb 1 - Regis and Kelly
          Feb 1 - Ugly Betty
          Feb 6 - Early Show
          Feb 7 - Kimmel

I'm sure she will also appear on AI to plug her album which will easily sell 150,000+ copies after the first week.

Did anyone see the Black chick who came out with the fake British accent? Simon looked at her and knew she was faking, then she proceeds to murder Princes Little Red Corvette(I think)while losing her accent, then regains it as she is told she won't be going to Hollywood.

I guess the people who audition them the first time lie to them or something cause there's no way that those people can think that they sound good.

Some of my favorites are the ones where they claim the judges don't know what they are talking about because their family has told them they sing so well.

LOL. The greatest thing about that guy was watching him during the last few notes of his audition. He thought he had absolutely nailed the audition and was feeling incredibly confident and pleased with himself. And then he gets torn to shreds by Randy of all people. Absolutely hilarious.

I wonder if the crying juggler/riverdancer is having a rough day at school today....how do you ever live something like that down?

The juggler was completely fake to me. His crying seemed fake, his whole schtick seemed fake to me. Not sure why, it just didn't seem real.

I loved it when he walks out and his mom is out waiting for him then he starts cussing and she's like "Oh no." Hilarious.

Randy trying not to laugh during the auditions is great.

I thought it seemed pretty real. The fake thing, to me, is the fact that these clowns get pushed through the initial phase of auditions just because they're so horrendously bad and comical as to be good television. I mean, it's not like there's no screening process before you get to stand in front of the big three judges. It would have more appeal if these people were just thrown before the judges sight unseen, but they're only there because they're so bad. There's a staged feeling to the show now, the way they just handpick the biggest losers.

It was always like that. It's just getting a little old now is all.
