Last night was an embarassment to music. The only one who stood out to me was Chris Sligh, but that could just be because he was the least ******** in a group of musical ******s.

Blake Lewis wasn't bad either, and if he breaks out the beat boxing in songs he will go far on this show by entertaining people, sort of like Taylor Hicks did last season.

I agree they were the two standouts in a sea of mediocrity last night. Sligh was appealing because at least he brought some energy to his performance on what was a very dreary, ballad-heavy evening. As soon as each guy came out and this slow music started, you just went "ugh...." and then the camera zooms in and you see the stool....auuugghh.

Blake Lewis appears to get it. He's dynamic and contemporary and he knows how to sell himself and carry himself around a stage without being annoying. I could see him being someone where you're excited to see what he pulls out of his hat each week. None of the other guys, except Chris Sligh, strike me as being that exciting right now.

Next week I'm hoping we see more individuality from these guys and some performances with some more bite and energy to them. Last night was mostly just a snoozefest.

I thought most all of the guys were drab, as I said earlier, but Phil Stacey, the last guy to sing, did quite well in the 2nd half of his song and if I had voted, which I didn't, would have been who I voted for.

Sabrina Sloan and Stephanie Edwards both totally killed it tonight.

In general, the girls are way better than the guys so far. But those two slayed it.

Antonella Barber is amazing. Sit me in a room with a spoon and her butt, and I'd be set for the forseeable future.

Too bad they ripped her. She wasn't THAT awful...

I'm not impressed with any of the singers I've seen so far (I haven't watched everybody though).

i know man. she actually did pretty well imo

i think the girl before her was right about ballads. They dont go over as often.

and it probably sounds different on TV than it does live for the judges sitting 10 yards away.

I am on a delay as i'm watching it on DVR but I must say this Melinda Doolittle girl is clearly the best singer of all those to sing so far. I didn't like the song she sang but dang she has got one heck of a voice.
