I think a lot of these responses are based on how old you were in the 90's. I was 9-18...so I was listening to a lot of pop, dance, hip-hop, etc. I absolutely hated Rock & Alternative and didn't come to appreciate a lot of that stuff until later.
As a result when I think of the 90's this album does a good job hitting most of the big ones:

1. Right Here, Right Now - Jesus Jones
2. Unbelievable - EMF
3. I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) - Proclaimers
4. U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
5. Jump Around - House Of Pain
6. Tennessee - Arrested Development
7. Ice, Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice
8. How Do You Talk To An Angel ? - Heights
9. I Touch Myself - Divinyls
10. I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred Listen
11. To Be With You - Mr. Big Listen
12. Joyride - Roxette Listen
13. One More Try - Timmy T.
14. Hold On - Wilson Phillips
15. Cantaloop (Flip Fantasy) - Us3
16. Summertime - DJ Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh...
17. Sex Me - R. Kelly
My personal all-time top 3 favorite 90's songs are:
- Life Is A Highway - Tom Cochrane (one of my top favs of all-time)
- Poison: Bell Biv DeVoe
- Love Me Forever Or Love Me Not: Trilogy
