    Band of Brothers

There is a marathon on one of the HBO channels right now.

I realize now that I should just go ahead and buy the $90 DVD set.

GREAT miniseries...and Ron Livingston is in it too. Nuff said.

It is really a great mini series and I should really pick it up as well. Also awhile back they were said to be doing another Band of Brothers series focusing on the battles with Japan in the pacific. I don't know if it will happen but it would be great if it did. Here is a link about it http://upcomingepics.com/pacific_war/index.shtml

"The Pacific War" looks like it has been delayed by a while:

            2009.

Need to get the DVD of the original someday. Favorite movie/miniseries by far.

                On TV, no question.

Including movies, you have a damn strong point.

I can't recall any series or mini-series that has moved me to tears after six or seven of the 10 episodes like "Band of Brothers" did. The most powerful movie/series I've ever seen.

Sh*t, just thinking of the wonderful theme music now gives me goosebumps. The movie is that good.

                Take care,

Agree. I have the DVD set and just watched this for about the fiftieth time last week. The documentary after the series was finished was incredible as well, where they showed all the interviews. The part where Winters was quoting a letter from Mike Ranney talking to his grandson had me all choked up.

BoB is the standard by which all other TV miniseries are judged. The production values and effects are insanely good for a series made for the small screen, the characters are engaging and authentic, and the storyline is phenomenal. I could watch the series over and over again and never tire of it.

The Flyers played a game a few years ago that fell on Veterans Day. Right before the National Anthem began, the Flyers announced Bill Guarnere and Babe Heffron, who came out and stood on either side of Flyers anthem singer Lauren Hart while she sang. I don't even remember if we won or lost that night, but it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a Flyers game.

Man, that is MEGA cool. A fitting tribute to two heroes.

                          Best miniseries EVER, period.

I bought the DVD set a while back and I'm sooo glad I did...still watch it all the time. I'm a huge WWII buff and BoB IMO is the best depiction of the war you can find. It has everything and only continues to get better with age.

I have seen a few bits and pieces of this show online and never caught it on HBO in '01. The Blu-ray version came out this week and is priced very reasonably that I am thinking of picking it up finally.

I still stand by this, but Generation Kill definitely gives it a strong run for it's money. I could argue it either way.
