Re: Direct TV Local High Def Channels
Yes most can.
The MPEG 4 DVR was something like $1000 to rent, don't know if the price has come down any. I would like to record locals in HD, but I can't since I live to far to get a signal, so I'm stuck with a MPEG 2 DVR until the 4 DVR price comes down.Comment

Re: Direct TV Local High Def Channels
As did I, DirecTV is the way to go, my bil is insane, but I have the NFL package, and the College FB package. I love it.
Nothing better than getting all the Bolts games and all the UH games. A bonus is the USC / UCLA games.Comment

Re: Direct TV Local High Def Channels
I just got rid of DIRECTV after 5 years. I upgraded my HD Reciever to the HD-20 & had nothing but problems with the receiver. I would just randomly loose picture while it tried to Aqiure Data from the Satelite. I went thru 3 boxes with no fix. Finally DIRECTV acknowledge that the HD-20 has a Firmeware problem & are working on a fix. A time-table was not given on when this fix would be available.
But that wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back, there NEW "EQUIPMENT LEASING" is what did it.. From now on any equipment you purchase is being LEASED. So if you choose to disconnect your service with them, you have to return any NEW Equipment purchased back to DIRECTV.. F-THAT. I'm not spending $300.00 on an HD-DVR that if I change service has to be returned..
As much as I didn't want to I made the switch to CABLE. The prices kind-of off=set themselves, but man do I miss DISCOVERY HD, HD-NET, HD-MOVIES & NFL Network...Comment
