Re: "Kramer" from Seinfeld goes nuts on stage.
Am I the only one who finds that tirade extremely amusing?
This country needs to get the stick out of it's collective ***. Did he go too far? Yes, I think that is evident. Should the guy be lynched for what he did? No, everyone makes mistakes. He lost his cool, really badly. So what? People F*ck up, it's a part of life. He made a mistake; he'll move on from it and hopefully learn.
You mean to tell me that nobody else here has said something entirely hateful to someone out of frustration? I'm betting every single person in this thread has, that makes you no better than him. In fact, it makes you worse than him. Because on top of losing your cool, you're a hypocrite.
That's not the case though, and we as a civilized society need to send the message to everybody that these kinds of outbursts based on skin color (or any grouping such as gender, sexual orientation, religion, et al) can not be tolerated. Phony, groveling, public relation infested apologies after the fact really don't ameliorate the situation entirely, but people are generally quite forgiving.
By the way, this IS about race, completely. It's not about being a comedian because Cosmo specifically picked out their skin color in his ravings. He also said "a black guy should never even criticize a white guy" or something to that effect near the end. So, just to clarify, this is definitely a race thing, not something about comedians.Comment

Re: "Kramer" from Seinfeld goes nuts on stage.
Who said it wasn't about race? It's OBVIOUS it was in this instance. But the outcry by everyone is rediculous. Racist or not, a hateful comment is a hateful comment. When I'm hangin out with 2 white friends, and one of them pisses off a black man and the black man calls him a Honkey or a Cracker, do I get offended? NO! He wasn't talkin' about me. He was takin a hateful shot at ONE PERSON. Sure, he used the race card, but it was meant at ONE SPECIFIC PERSON! If he said, "I Hate ******s!", that is COMPLETELY different than calling ONE MAN that word. One man that continuously interupted him btw, which would frustrate anyone beyond belief.
Am I defending him? Hell no, there is no place in society for what he did. It was extremely uncalled for. BUT, the guy did just commit career suicide, well whatever reminence of a career he had left. That is enough punishment for me. He basically just lost everything he still has left.Comment

Re: "Kramer" from Seinfeld goes nuts on stage.
For those interested, Kramer will be on David Lettermen later tonight.
He taped a satellite appearence. Not sure what he says on it though.
And I sort of agree with what eXperiment is saying. People do dumb stuff, People in glass houses... etc. What would really be best is if people just looked at this stuff and didn't even bother to acknowledge the stupidity and ignorance behind it.
I think it's also wrong to pull the slavery card and say that some things can't be said because of what happened hundreds of years ago. That's ridiculous. And I am absolutely not condoning in any shape or form the use of the N word by anybody when I say this. It's completely ignorant. You just can't keep using that as a shield to condone or excuse something being said or not said, or done or not done.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

Re: "Kramer" from Seinfeld goes nuts on stage.
Dude, everyone does at one point or another. That is why we are humans, we make mistakes. If we didn't, there would be no humanity left in us. Making a mistake does not make you a bad person. Making a mistake repeatedly, or continuously making mistakes like the one he made the other night, that makes you a bad person. It was one incident, it should be treated as one.
And if you sit down and think about it logically. Being racist does not make oneself a bad person by default. Being racist depends upon a lot of factors. Everyone has different experiences in life, so one person's view cannot be said to be entirely wrong based upon the fact that nobody else has lived their life. Are people who are tolerant of other races better people? I'm betting a lot of them are, but that isn't to say that someone is a bad guy because he is racist.Comment

I would say someone who is a racist is a bad person. Hating someone based on their race and not their character is awful.

Re: "Kramer" from Seinfeld goes nuts on stage.
So because a white kid was repeatedly beaten by a group of black kids when he was younger and has grown to hate black people due to those experiences... That makes him a bad person. Even if he donates time and money to a ton of local charities for the homeless and ill? No it doesn't!Comment

Then you are as intolerant as he is to whichever race he hates. If you cannot see a victim of circumstance as a VICTIM, and not a biggot, you are as bad as he...Comment

Seinfeld was a guest on Letterman tonight and Kramer appeared via satellite.
Kramer said he just lost his temper and feels bad about the whole incident.Comment

Re: "Kramer" from Seinfeld goes nuts on stage.
In my case, I'm not spewing off hateful comments and singling out or degrading a race or a religion of people. I just have negative feelings of one guy.
I do see where you are coming from, but in my case, I'm just intolerant of him, not any groups with which he's associated.Favorite Teams:
