Well if you can get the first two for $87.82, then Volumes 3 and 4 for $61.03 each, that's a total of $209.88

Or, you could get the first two for $87.82 off DeepDiscountDVD, then get 3 and 4 from Overstock for $56.79 each, and it's a total of $201.40

I wasn't being accurate, I was guestimating. My living in Canada doesn't help matters though.

I still stand by my opinion that forcing me to buy five lousy-to-awful Roger Moore Bonds, one awful Connery Bond, and Die Another Day to get the six or so films I really want is rediculous.

Fair enough, I wasn't trying to be a dick, sorry if I came off that way, just trying to help people get the best deal possible. That exchange rate sucks doesn't it?

I understand about the other films and how they have to package the "bad" Bonds with the Connerys just so people buy them. Oh well. I haven't seen a lot of Bonds (somewhere in the neighborhood of 5) but I have liked what I've seen from Connerys works to The Man With The Golden Gun (even though someone mentioned they hated that one) to some Brosnan (Goldeneye is good, the others...eh). So I'm willing to give them a shot.

No worries. And yes, the exchange rate sucks...though not as bad now. The problems are (a) the price is still inflated even though it's really only about $1 USD to $1.11 CAD now and (b) sales tax in Ontario works out to 14%.

That may have been me that said I hated Golden Gun, because it was a piece of sh*t.

If you haven't seen many of the Moore films, I'll save you the time. The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only are good. The rest are either poor or abysmal.

Volumes one and two arrived on Saturday, but I haven't had a chance to watch them yet. I'm probably gonna go see Casino Royale tonight and watch a couple from the sets tomorrow or Thursday night. I'll post some impressions when I get to them.

I watched Goldfinger one of the days after I got the set and while you can tell the movie is 42 years old, it looks great. Just finished watching A View To A Kill and the video is fantastic. Definitely very good transfers on this set, even if the movies have been around for a long time.

What kind of bonus features are in the sets?

I just popped in the bonus disc for A View To A Kill since I hadn't looked at any of the features yet. There are deleted scenes, trailers, audio commentary from Roger Moore, another audio commentary from director John Glen and some cast and crew members, etc.

There's also an interactive guide where you can view things individually like the gun barrel sequence, credit sequence, and some sequences from characters. There are a lot of these and I don't know if they're really all that impressive.

There's also a small 5-minute or so featurette giving the background of the exotic locations used in the movie.

I'll have to explore some more and see what else is available. Some pretty cool stuff, though.

I see there's also a new documentary and a few featurettes on the disc, haven't checked them out yet though.

Bump. I picked up Vol. 4 last night since it has the first Bond movie that was filmed (Dr. No). I have yet to watch any of them yet, but hopefully by tomorrow I will have at least watched Dr. No. I understand why they scattered the movies the way the did, but it still makes me mad.

I just got set #3. IMHO the best set. From Russia with Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, and Goldeneye. Also I do not have any of them, unlike the rest of the sets. No way in hell I will buy a set to get a movie or 2 if I already own the rest.

                            According to this article http://commanderbond.net/article/3990
They will be releasing them individually soon.

So, for somebody that has none of the Bond movies, the box sets are still a good value at $60-70 a piece.

Speaking of which, Amazon has the 3rd and 4th volumes listed at $58 each.

Yes, they are. I would get them, in a heartbeat. Depends on how big a fan you are. Have you read the books? You can find all of them(14) for $15. Now thats a bargin.
