Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Blade Runner gets a perfect 5 star rating on video and audio. Impressive.

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Not sure if this was mentioned earlier but....Evan Almighty and Knocked Up can be had for $20 during Best Buy's BOGO. I just took the printout for both movies from the BB website up to the cashier and a manager came by to lower the price.
Not bad for 2 recent releases.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
I'm thinking of getting the Addon for my 360 and then buying a blue ray for 299.99 at best buy. I am though nervous that I will end up regretting the 360 addon and wish I had bought a free standing player. What have everyone done?
If I buy a blue ray player and NOT the PS3...am I able to update the system to 1.1 and beyond when the time comes? ThanksComment

I have the add on and I love it. If I wasnt planing on buying the new Samsung Duo Combo player I would be fine with my addon and a PS3.Comment

It's all up to you, you can either get the add on and use the 360 with it or get a stand alone player. Many on here thinks I'm nuts, but I prefer stand alone players because to me it doesn't give any extra stress to my video game systems. If stand alone BD players were ever on a fire sale for $100-$199, I'd get one for sure..............but the PS3 is still the best BD player out there.Comment

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
You should confirm that they plan to update the player to play 1.1. I dont think that the 299 bluray one is able to play 1.1 or is able to be updated to 1.1.

Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread
Well I will probably do the add-on route and then once the ps3 comes lower in price or I get lots of target/best buy giftcards, I will fo that route. I imagine PS3 will be reduced again in the near future. Thanks for the input guys.Comment

From what I've heard, it's like "The Thin Red Line" of westerns. You can't go in expecting a typical western. It's not a crowd pleaser.Comment
