I was at both Bestbuy and Blockbuster today and both the Kingdom and Rush Hour 3 were realeased for rent/sale. They had said the studio's are giving some stores permission to sell today to get the rush on xmas gifts. I picked up both for rent

Yeah, many stores have had these movies out since Wednesday. I wonder how he got B2G1 Free today on those movies since that is not till tomorrow. I just called there and the guy said tomorrow for the B2G1, so I'm just going to wait.

Pimping, I would try after midnight to order these off of BB.com using in-store pickup.

          Probably a stupid question, but...

          ...I have a Playstation 3 but a standard 25" tube t.v....I haven't watched a Blu-Ray DVD yet.

...even though my t.v. is not an HDTV, will the Blu-Ray sound and visually be shaper than a regular DVD....sorry if this is a stupid question. I just haven't had the $$$ to buy an expensive HD tv as of yet.

The sale begins tomorrow. I got lucky as it somehow rang-up @ the register. Lucky me  BTW I'm watching Eastern Promises as I type. Picture Quality is excellent. The movie is very dialogue heavy so you really can't get a good sense how good the audio is. True HD is available within the Menu for those who can take advantage of it

The B2G1 sale is up at BestBuy.com but for some strange reason it doesnt include The Kingdom, Im not sure if its an oversight on their part or its not supposed to be included but considering it says buy ANY 2 HD-DVD's get 1 free I would assume its a website issue. Its unfortunate since I was going to place the order this morning to pick it up later tonight but apparently that isnt going to work out for me in the end, better luck later today I guess.

I'm not 100% sure, but you won't notice anything visually. The difference between HD formats and DVD becomes more noticeable on larger HDTVs. Being that you have a relatively small non-HDTV, I doubt you will see a difference. Now if you have an optical cable hooked up to a surround sound system, you will definitely hear the difference.

                    Thanks Chief..

...I am looking into buying an HDTV in the next week or so once Christmas is over, so then I can really experience next-gen gaming and Blu-Ray visually.

Question, what do you normally use to print these custom covers on? I assume its not just regular printer paper but either card stock or a glossy picture paper. Secondly, my printer isnt the greatest, how do these come out on a middle of the road printer? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yeah I went down to BB and picked them up, must be a problem with their website but either way I got what I wanted in the end so it all worked out anyways.

So I think I might buy a HD DVD player.

I was fine with my upconverting DVD player, but after watching alot of HDNet Movies, and even movies on abc, fox ect I can't stand the quality of upconvert. What are the choices out there? I know walmart had one for $98, I don't want to pay $300. I don't want it that bad. Hopefully under $125, I am gonna be buying rockband soon aswell.

I thought the 360 HDDVD player went down to $129? If I do get that one, how does component cables match up against one that would have HDMI?

I am going with HD DVD now because I will probably get a ps3 sometime during the summer.

Sometimes you can get away with plain paper. The plastic casing over it doesn't give away some designs. Just print one, and test it out.

The $129 360 add-on was a one-time sale, as was HD DVD players @ $99. Your best bet is to browse through Amazon, but those range from $165-270--depends on the current promotion.

The thread hasn't reached a typical 24 (tv show) thread nor the HDTV Q&A's size. Yet.
