Some of these analysts don't realize how much MS has riding on having HD-DVD win or even put a dent into BluRay. Even more important, if MS can stop Sony dead in their tracks or put that needed dent into this format war.........it also royally hurts the PS3 to a degree. Sony continues to use the PS3 as a vehicle for this war...............so MS just decides to one up them and throw cash at 2 of the bigger movie companies.
I laugh so much at some of the BluRay fanzies as I read this at other forums, their acting like this isn't a big deal at all. If Sony swallowed them up exclusively, they would be having wet dreams in an instant.
With Universal, Weinstein, Paramount, and Dreamworks on one side, this format war is long from ending.
Now that Shrek the third is exclusive, with Transformers being produced and distributed by Universal, Paramount, and Dreamworks SKG, and executive produced by Microsoft..........I think its HD-DVD exclusive now.
Now I have hated Paramount's dvd releases in the past since so many of their dvd releases were barebones for a higher price point. I just hope this doesn't continue with HD-DVD.

Reports now seem to indicate that already announced Blu-ray titles from Paramount will not be released.
Sources says that Blu-ray sales will come from existing inventories only. We are trying to get this confirmed. If this is the case already announced titles like Face/off, Top Gun, Jack Ryan Collection and NEXT will be HD DVDs only.
