Oh well...

I got two HD DVD players (a stand alone for 98 bucks and an XBox add on for 90 bucks) so if worse comes to worse...I'm out a whopping 200 bucks with a bunch of great HD movies as well.

That's not so bad.

If I have to get a Blu Ray player in the future....so be it.

But I'm not exactly freaking out because I have a great HD DVD player and some great HD DVD titles.

Now if I had spent 2000 dollars on all that stuff..maybe. But a few hundred bucks for a year or 2 of great HD viewing isn't gonna break me.

I need to pick up Battlestar Galactica on HDDVD and Heroes now.

I wonder if they will fix the transfer on Matrix Revolutions for BD, the HD-DVD one had some atrifacts/macroblocking throughout.

You should check out the review for BG...apparently it's not that great of a transfer. I'm sure it'll look better than SD DVD, but not as great as most expected.

Yeah, BG drew a lot of heat for its poor transfer and its ******** packaging concept. It made a lot of people's worst releases list for last year.

Heroes S1 is great though, AA.

Just my opinion guys and I owned the BSG S1 on HD-DVD, I had to return it to Amazon because all my discs were either scratched or had oval rings on them. I placed Disc 1 into the player and after 5 minutes the disc was stuttering, so I said **** it and sent it back to Amazon for a refund.

The packaging has to be the worst packaging that I have ever seen for any DVD movie ever. It's all encased by this paper thin cardboard and then the center tabs that hold the HD-DVD's are gel tabs which some people either tore off the packaging by mistake or snapped the disc in half trying to pry it off. The best way to get the discs out were to twist them off.

From what I saw on the PQ, for 5 minutes....LOL!.....the PQ was just blah.

Anyone been able to successfully use their "$20 off 3 blu ray movies" BB reward zone coupon with movies that are on sale? I tried to pick up 2 that were $15 and 1 that was $18 but no luck. The girl called a manager over and she wouldn't approve it.

I told the manager it says "ANY 3 blu rays" and pointed out that they weren't a special offer, open box, or clearance priced. Still a no go. I may try again tomorrow at a different store.

I was pissed b/c if flicks on sale weren't eligible it shouldn't say "any" and the fine print should say "regular priced only".

If anyone hears anything about Shawshank Redemption coming out in BR or HD-DVD please post it here, this is the one movie I have been waiting on for a year or so. Im going to assume nobody has heard anything already since its been rather quiet on this front.
