Got King Of New York and David Gilmour Live on Bluray today. Gilmour live is really good if you are a Floyd fan. Haven't watched King of NY yet so not sure about picture quality.

I watched 300 last night - looked amazing; loved the art style of the movie. I'm not sure if it was suppose to be this way since I had never seen the film before, but is the movie suppose to have a grainy look to it?

Yup, that is how the movie was filmed.

I'm still laughing at Paramount, all they did yesterday was announce everything they had announced from December, except for "Kite Runner" and "Jack Ryan" is still with a TBA. I can't wait for Uni's title announcement.

BTW, Jack Ryan Collection has been selling for about $150-$200 on ebay. Crazy.

I think I read somewhere they added an artificial film grain to the movie.

Personally I wish it wasn't so overtly grainy.

                  Re: Official Blu-Ray & HD-DVD Thread

Just watched a few HD-DVDs for the first time. Superman 1 had a very nice PQ, especially for a catalog movie that old. Liked it much more than the recent, Superman Returns.

Watched Shrek 3. Eh, very good from a technical (PQ/AQ) standpoint, but wasn't a fan of the movie itself. The first 2 were definitely better movies.

Side note, rented War on regular DVD. Was a good action flick, not bad. But I've been hearing that Shoot Em Up, is alot better and more over-the-top.

                    Game, was WAR worth purchasing?

Plus Shoot Up is a very cool movie and if you like Clive Owen, it makes it even that much better.

I agree, Shrek 3 is nowhere near the first two.

                    Thanks

Agreed, I wasn't really a fan of the graininess, but didn't really notice it after the beginning.

I've been thinking of picking up Superman 1 on HD-DVD. Is Superman 2 on HD-DVD as well?

Get Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut.

                          EXCELLENT on HD DVD.

For me, it was just a rental..the SD version anyway. If you like Jet Li or Jason Statham it might be worth picking up. IMO, both have been better in previous movies.
