    EDIT:

Actually I think that might be a cool way to end the series. I mean boxing is a very violent sport and there have been boxers who've died in the ring/very shortly after a fight.

Oh well, I'll still catch this movie.
Hahaha. NO, NO, NO! Stallone came out to introduce the movie in person and my friend started bawling because she's so in love with the actor. Not because of anything that occured in the movie.

It pains me to say this but this was the worst of all 6 films. It wasn't a 'bad' film but there seemed like there were some scenes missing that never made it in the film. I can't explain it without really ruining the story but some of the subplots seemed useless and never really tied up at the end.
The acting was fine and the story was decent enough. But afterwards, all 4 of us felt that the story could have been better.
I don't think this gives anything away but I think if Stallone had followed the George Foremen comeback more closely in this film (like he originally intended) it would have been a better flick.

If you're a diehard Rocky fan you might want to still see it in the theatre. But after watching it now, I think I could have waited for the DVD. And it really hurts to say this but I kind of wish this movie wasn't made. If they were going to make a Rocky 6 there were better ways to do the story.

Anyway, if I was forced to give this movie a grade it would be: 6/10.

I don't want to bum anyone out. Some of you might watch it and love it. But one of my friends who watched it is a GIANT Rocky fan and even a bigger Stallone fan. In fact, when he came out to say few words about the film she even started crying. And afterwards she said she didn't like it that much.
Maybe the best way to sum it up would be Star Wars I. I think we might have hyped it up so much it disappointed a bit.
If you are a fan, and saying this is worse than that pile of **** they called Rocky 5, then I will stay, far, far, far, far, far away.

I was pissed cuz they could of shown a 11:30 showing but the manager said that company that made the movie would not let them show it again, oh well at leasst I got to see Tommy Hearans and Emanual stewert
Yeah, there were a LOT of people that paid the $100 that couldn't get in either. I got up at one point to pee and I was almost not allowed back in. But one of the security people there (dressed up like a SWAT member) remembered me leaving and said I had a seat waiting for me. There were a lot of people that paid the cash but never got to see it.
It was a really shotty setup and my friends and I are will be calling the theatre to try and get some kind of perk.
We were specifically told that the $100 would allow us some time with Stallone in the VIP area for pictures and autographs. Well of course he's too Hollywood to show up on time so this never happened. If I can, at least, get some free tix out of this mess it'll be something.
I think I'm more disappointed because the movie was a bit of a let down.
But maybe it's because I paid way too much money and expected more. I might like it a lot more when I see it on DVD.

But I'd love to hear what others thought (if anyone else did see it). I really felt that some of the side plots weren't developed enough and definately didn't have a stronger ending to them.

Out of the 20 or so reviews I have read so far, this is the first one that I have read that was negative or down on it at all. So I am not worried about this at all.

Yeah, this list of reviews is nothing but positive, and the previews look so promising. Money's entitled to his opinion, but I'll definitely see this movie. Didn't they change it to December 20th from Christmas Day?

OK, it's 10 days later, and the movie fully opened today. Anyone see it? Any impressions? I won't watch it until Friday.

I saw it on Monday and it was lame. There was maybe 25 minutes of anything related to boxing and most of the plot never really led anywhere.

The first hour and some is attempts at acting, but the last half hour is pretty good.

I'd give it a 5/10 or so. Nobody thought it was good, with a few saying it was worse than 5.

From the reviews I've been reading you either love or hate this movie-mostly positive though.

I saw it tonight...I am a huge Rocky series fan (they were the first movies I saw when I was a kid), probably can quote them all (even 5)...That said, this one was a well-done movie. Is it an oscar worthy film? No. But if you are a true Rocky fan, this is the perfect ending to the series.

Required homework before seeing it---Watch Rocky I. There are many allusions to it and if someone is unfamiliar, they will not get the "full circle" ideas. I liked it alot...the best one since Rocky II. There was a good story which has been absent since 3. The acting was so much better than 4 and 5, and the fight was well done.

I think reactions will be mixed. It is popular to rag on this series and some people go in wanting the "greatest movie ever made". It is a must see for a Rocky fan.

I saw it tonight, and loved it. I again found myself being motivated by this great character, and at the same time, the movie brought closure for me, not just in the sense of the Rocky series, but it brought together a part of my life where this Rocky character lived.

It's hard to explain. Even in the reality of knowing Rocky is old and his comeback is obsurd, you still have the compassion for his character, and you still want to jump out of your seat and cheer him on.

The movie gets back to the roots of the genuine Rocky character, a good everyday kinda guy who brings light into the world of others.

I say the magic of Rocky is still there.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I saw it tonight, and I really liked it. Sure, not up to par with the previous films, but this was done very well I think. Very sentimental, it didn't really feel like it was "made in current times". It felt like it was filmed a long time ago, but just released now. Trust me, that isn't a bad thing.

The movie gives away this classic feel, which is hard to describe in words.

You guys should go see it. You won't be blown away, but very enjoyable.
