Re: Hangover cures?
I always quit drinking about an hour or so before bed and drink a bunch of water, then take a couple of aspirin. Then I sleep about 10 hours (yeah that's alot of sleep but you're basically sleeping through "the worst" so it's well worth it) and then when I wake up periodically in the A.M. I'm sucking down water. Then lastly, when I get up finally I eat some pizza or a sandwich and I feel a bit tired but besides that I feel hangover free.
The key really is to simply know your limit and don't drink too darned much. I've been drinking for years and I've pretty much learned when to quit so I don't have a whale of a hangover. With practice you too can learn your limit and you'll just know when to quit drinking and it'll help immensely.
Also, when I go out with friends I drink one water for every 2 beers and I don't care if my friends think it's "dorky" because it works.
Oh yeah and remember DO NOT TAKE TYLENOL WHEN DRINKING, it can seriously damage your liver. Read the warning right on the label if you don't believe me. Take aspirin, not tylenol.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Hangover cures?
Do you actually feel some sort of buzz when you do the "one drink-one water" method?Comment

Re: Hangover cures?
yes. but you can drink more than you normally could and not feel bad the next day. I can drink 2 to 3 times as much if I drink water. Last time we were out I had 10 glasses of water through out the night. Other than pissing every 20 minutes it was good.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Hangover cures?
The only thing I get the next day after drinking is a weird numb/uncomfortable feeling in my legs. That goes away after a while. That said, I don't drink often.Comment

Re: Hangover cures?
I've had alcohol poisoning as well and the only thing that helped mine was an overnight stay in the hospital. Needless to say, I will never down a big ol' bottle of Vodka straight in 1 hour. I don't remember the exact size, it was one of the real tall bottles. It was Aristocrat too. If you know what that means, then you - like I, drink way too much.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Hangover cures?
I had the worst hangover in my life when I killed a Grey Goose bottle on me and my bud...the poor bastards we were partying with were good after 2 shots...lightweights.
Was amazed when I couldn't walk straight and kept falling.
Next day, going to the doctor's office, but to get to Manhattan, I faced 5 transfers since the MTA had to pick that day for it's delays and whatnot....this was all so the doctor could write out a prescription for Vikes and tell me to drink large sums of H20. Thanks a lot, Doc.Comment

Re: Hangover cures?
Oh man, on the not being able to stand I can relate. I was told I was laughing and singing one minute and I passed out the next. The first thing that I remembered I was sitting on the floor rocking back and forth like Mankind telling everybody I was fine. Then I started puking on everything, the floor, my pants, my shoes. I threw my shirt off and crawled outside on the deck and propped myself up and puked some more. Then I said, ok maybe I should go to the hospital. I couldn't hardly see, I could not stand or walk straight, I couldn't even communicate really. The whole time though I kept saying that I was fine. Doctors told the person who took me to the hospital that I could have died if I hadn't come in.
I'll tell ya, that'll make you lay off the booze for a couple months.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Hangover cures?
I've had my fair share of bad hangovers. But my worst had to be my junior year of college. I had just finished my last football game of the season against our rival. I ended up dislocating my ankle on the artificial turf in the second quarter. So on crutches, I decided to buy a fifth of Captain Mo's. And there was a huge party just down the street from where I lived. So, I crutched my way down there, already with half the fifth downed. I get to the party and finish the fifth, where I proceed to talk to a girl that I had wanted to get with. I hang out w/ her and her friends for a bit, even going to 7-11. I eventually ask her out, where she shoots me down. I wake up the next morning on my couch, because I couldn't get up on my bed. I didn't know how I ended up there or asking the girl out. A friend of mine told me that I walked home from the party, without the aide of my crutches. My ankle then was killing me and my stomach was churning. I took a look at my ankle and it was black, blue, and purple from my toes to almost my knee. My friend who had broke his ankle before told me I could have broken it and told me to go to the ER. I go there still reaking of alcohol and the doctor made note of it, where I almost lost my stomach while he checked out my ankle. I ended up with just a dislocated ankle and some damaged ligaments, but I was dumb enough to walk on it when I was blacked out. Stupid me!"You should only drink to enhance your social skills." -Barney GumbleComment

Re: Hangover cures?
I can't add much that hasn't already been stated. I used to make sure I'd drink a glass of water with 2 Tylenol before I went to bed and that usually worked for me. I was also lucky that no matter how drunk I got, I never seemed to get bad hangovers.
GNC also sells pills that are supposed to eliminate hangovers. I've never tried them though. I think they're called "Chasers". They're supposed to clean out the toxins from alcohol.Comment

Re: Hangover cures?
Yeah, I thought they were miracle pills, that is until I read on the label you have to take it the day BEFORE the hangover occurs. So basically when you're drinking, you pop it right before. Beats the point IMO.Comment
