    Holy ****...

    1) Visual voicemail - Being able to choose any message you want to listen to, without going in order.

    2) Cover flow mode - Rotate the screen, and it flips. WOW

Damn its even smoother and easier to use than I imagined. Also slightly smaller than I envisioned. This could revolutionize the way phones are done for the next few years.

not having a pad that you can feel is going to be a big change but since cell phones have address books it might not be as big a deal and it could be something that should have happened a long time ago. For me, I can keep my mp3 player and phone separate. But for me I want a cell phone that replaces the need for me to ever say I wish I had my laptop with me. So give me that iPhone design, 10GB integral, SD, USB, full web, MS Vista, and a optional compact keyboard. I want to be able to start a paper in word or presentation in powerpoint or excel on my desktop and if I need to make changes to it I can do it all on my phone. If WMP wants to play a song or two in the background fine but replacing the need for a laptop is what is important to me.

It's cool but seems like overkill to me.

I tend to desire reception and a solidly built phone, without all the extras, but I tend to be in the minority here, so I'm sure the phone will do well; if it's sold by the major providers, and not limited to some phone company Apple tries to start up.

Just amazing. And to think, when I was a kid, I played with a paddle with a ball attached to it with a string for entertainment.

By not dropping it, by not putting it in the same pocket with change or keys, by not dragging it across the table. Basically by treating it well.

Not that you were doing this, but I love how people basically don't take care of their devices(cell phones, ipods, etc) and then blame the manufacturer for the scratches on it. If you don't want scratches, dont subject things to scratch-creating situations!

I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

If thats what you want, then you're not the consumer that apple is trying to market the iphone to.

When apples CEO introduced the phone, he made it very clear that he didn't want this product to be a portable, full-functioning computer. Its your phone + music + movies + photos + web, which is what they believe the majority of people will want.

I think its a good strategy because the two hottest gadgets out are 1. cell phones and 2. iPod. Now, how well it will sell I'm not sure. Even though I think you get a good value for what you're paying, its still expensive
