    SAW IV Discussion

    SAW IV Update from IGN:

"We have someone in mind [to direct]," revealed Wan coyly. "We have someone in mind. And we're working on the script right now. That's pretty much where things are at. Saw IV is a tricky one for me to talk about because everyone wants to know about it, but it's just at such an early stage."

Fair enough. But with Saw III's rather "definitive" ending, one can't help but wonder whether the next film will follow the prequel route.

"That's kind of a weird one to answer only because pretty much all of the Saw films take place in so many different timelines," explained Wan. "Sometimes the film touches here, but then it goes all the way forward but then it goes all the way backward again. It does touch on so many different time frames. Is [Saw IV] a prequel or sequel? It's kind of all intermixed. We jump everywhere, and Saw III did setup a lot of elements where Saw IV may end up going."

Saw IV? Everybody knows that I am the biggest Saw fan here.

That said, I won't have it. So, for those that go out to see this movie, remember that I'm asking you guys not to.

        Keep the trilogy!

I'll be seeing it on opening night.

I think it could be better than people are giving it credit.

I mean, I bet it won't be a bad movie, but I'd rather they just kept it as a trilogy.

I'm no fan of this movie series but it seems they're pumping out movies in this series like crazy.

The first was superb. The second overcrowded and too confusing. The third was driven by gore and shocking the viewer. The fourth will be something, but it won't be superb.

I'll probably see this when it comes out. I'm not emotionally attached to a gorefest being a trilogy, so I'll just enjoy it for the brainless entertainment it will provide me.

Part 2 started the overkill.... Three's sloppy plot just continued it. All it is now is a laughing stock amongst real horror fans.

I think that SAW IV is going to be a trainwreck going in the same direction as the Halloween, Nightmare, Friday, etc. series.

I can see it now......American Pie Presents: Saw IV-The Stiffmeister Get's Hacked

Storyline: Tony Stifler is trying to get laid before he graduates HS. He passes out and wakes up in a torture chamber. Will he survive and get laid like all the other Stiflers before him, or will he find out the choice is for him to die? (Also starring Eugene Levy as Jim's Dad)

The first three had a brain to them. This one, unfortunately, probably will not.
