Fall Out Boy- Infinity on High

I know, I know. Fall Out Boy? I decided to give it a listen out of shear curiousity since they were my band senior year. I absolutely hated their last release compared to Take this to Your Grave. All I can say about their new album is that it's more along the lines of Take this to Your Grave and I can't stop listening to the ENTIRE album.

The first track originally titled "The Takeover, the Break's Over" starts out with none other than Jay-Z babbling away about something.. upon figuring out it was Hova I was just certain the album was going to be garbage. Surprisingly the overdone riffs and harmonizations work really well and I just know that it's going to go over extremely well to the masses. If you're a FOB fan you're definitely going to enjoy their latest. This is head and shoulders above their last release.

Is it possible to comprehend any of their lyrics in this album?

Ahh, I was trying to remember what band this was.... LOL I remember them on SNL. Possibly the worst band I've ever heard in my life.

By the way, I have nothing against the group... I mean I know they could be classified as "emo" or whatever, but some of their songs actually have some kick-*** tunes. I would be willing to check out their new album for sure.

In retrospect, that video isn't anywhere near as funny as I thought. The first time I saw it -- after only having heard the song a couple times -- I found it quite humorous, because I too couldn't understand the lyrics. But, honestly, anyone who has heard the song more than three or four times has no reason not to understand what Stump is singing. Most of the stuff in the video doesn't even sound anything at all like what is actually being sung.

The cameos in the "This Ain't A Scene" video are awesome.

Agreed. Though it was funny the first time, now Im not sure why.

A similar video to Girl's Not Grey. Bit better IMO.

I downloaded it a few days ago, and can't stop listening to "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race". If I get to see them in 2007, I bet that'll be a great song live because of the chant.

I also really love "The Take Over, The Breaks Over", "I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)" and "The (After) Life of the Party.

The beginning of "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" is so awesome. It's a very theatrical start to the song. Also very good.

Overall, I like it. There are some songs that I haven't warmed up to (Fame < Infamy, You're Crashing, But You're No Wave) but I think with time, I will.

I actually liked From Under the Cork Tree. Will Infinity On High surpass it? Probably. Right now, it hasn't. It'll take some time to warm up, as I said.

However, nothing will top Take This To Your Grave. That album was great, throughout.

I despise Fall Out Boy. I pretty much despise emo and punk altogether.

Yet Fall Out Boy falls under neither of the true definitions of emo or punk.
