New MCR is a million times better than anything else the released. They busted their *** for that album. Not to mention, the concept of that album is something few bands dare to do.

As far as this album, I can't stop listening to "The (After) Life of the Party" tonight. I keep putting it on repeat.

This cd is ok, but if you've heard TTTYG then you know how good this band can be. That cd is easily on of, if not the best pop punk cd ever released. Perfect from start to finish. This cd is ok, but doing things that just don't sound like fall out boy. The last track is awful. I understand they wanna break out of there shell and mature as artist. I just wish they wouldnt and would stay as the band i started listening to back in like 2001. They used to be amazing, now there just ok and trying to reinvent rock music... just like every other band recently. If its not broken dont fix it, and there sound when they started out had no problems... so why did they change it.

            Ok... rant over.
I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

rapiscrap.. i think it takes two or three times through to let it sink in. But yes, I totally agree that TTTYG was amazing for what it was. P.S. here is the official tracklist:

              1. Car Crash Hearts
              2. Satisfaction
              3. This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race
              4. Me And You
              5. Hum Hallelujah
              6. How Cruel
              7. Thanks For The Memories
              8. Stitch Away
              9. Carpal Tunnel Of Love
              10. Yellow Checkered Cars
              11. Better With A Pen
              12. Law And Order
              13. Truth Hurts Worse

Bold are my favorites. Yellow Checkered Cars is simply spellbinding.. track reminds me a lot of TTTYG in terms of catchiness. It also features some screamo action. I like it!

I'm really confused at the track listing. I've seen both floating around.

There's a Bonus track if you buy from Walmart ("It's Hard To Say "I Do", When I Don't"), but a different song if you buy from Best Buy ("G.I.N.A.S.F.S.")? Also, if you get from Best Buy, apparently the Kayne West remix of "This Ain't A Scene..." is on there too.

Personally, I like the earlier track listing titles, not the ones Carraba posted. They just don't seem like FOB.

I agree 100%. The track "You and Me" was originally titled "I'm Like a Lawyer the way I'm Always Trying to Get you Off". What a great track title.

And I have an extra track titled "I've Got All This Ringing in my Ears and None on my Fingers". So I am still a bit confused.

                        Bruins posted the correct tracklisting.

As for the bonus tracks, you're correct about that as well. For Wal-Mart you get "It's Hard to say..." and from Best Buy you get "Gay is not a synonym for ****ty" as well as a remix of "This Ain't A Scene..." most likely by Kanye. Also, if you pre-order from somewhere you'll get a bonus EP, "Leaked in London". Eli, are you a reader of absolutepunk.net as well?

                        Anyways, my impressions...

Take This To Your Grave > FUCT > Infinity on High

I've probably gone through this album 15 times and some of the songs are just not sticking with me. "I'm Like A Lawyer..." is pretty poor and "Golden" is awful. I do like Hum Hallelujah, I think it resembles TTTYG. Thanks for the Memories, Thriller and Carpal Tunnel (minus Pete's screaming) are probably my favourites on the album.

I do think it is a good album and am still a fan of the band, even though many early fans have abandoned them since they blew up. But it is their worst effort (not counting Evening Out... which is pretty bad except a few songs).

I think the weakness of the album is the lyrics. I think Pete writes good lyrics, even if they are "emo" ( which is laughable because FOB is not at all emo) and written for teen girls. The entire album is just not on par with the other two in my opinion and I think it's because they were experimenting with new things, something all bands do from album to album.

Not one of my favourite bands so I am not really disappointed. I'd probably give it a 7/10.

Hate the band, let me express hate. But I gave the album a listen nonetheless because my girlfriend is a big fan and well, I still hate them. Just something about that type of music I can't stand. Just feels like this is the new age Britney Spears/Backstreet Boys stuff.

I read absolutepunk.net from time to time, when I'm bored and want to see if any new albums or tours are coming out/around. I wonder if they'll have "Leaked In London" on iTunes, so I don't have to preorder?

I actually like "I'm Like A Lawyer..." because it's something new. It's chill, and it's catchy. There's two songs I haven't heard (Golden or Bang the Doldrums) so I can't comment on those. "You're Crashing...", to me, is my least favorite song. They definitely could've left that one off. Maybe I just haven't warmed up to it yet.

Today, I've been obsessed with "Fame < Infamy" and "I've Got All This Ringing...". I can't stop listening to either song. LOL, you can tell by my last.fm tracks. It's basically been nonstop.

Here's the thing with alot of old school FOB fans. They always expect the band to stay the same. The same music, forever. At some point, the band has to try something new, and mature. I think this album did that, without "selling out" as some would like to cry. Some of it was successful, some of it wasn't. Obviously, they set themselves up for a high standard with TTTYG.

I'll tell you what's weird...seeing FOB live back in October of 2004 and them being the opening band for Taking Back Sunday and Matchbook Romance. I only knew Grand Theft Autumn, which seemed was more than the rest of the crowd (lol). Never in my wildest dreams did I think Fall Out Boy would make it THIS big.

Lyrically, I think it's about on par with the last album. I love the line "We're the face of failure".

I didn't really pay attention to song titles, so I can't comment individually right now...

My first impression: I like it.

Nice sound, I thought. I really enjoyed listening to this, and I'm sure it'll grow on me even more.

Dude, no offense, but you were 12 when the Britney/Backstreet/N'Sync stuff was at its apex. You have no idea how horrible that period was for music. Try dating college girls whose favorite songs were by the Backstreet Boys. It was enough to make you want to slap them in the face.

I'll take whiny emo **** (which I don't believe this is) over that dark period of music any day.
