Can anyone tell me why mp4's I DL through iTunes work sporadically with the Zune? I try to drag/drop them and half the time it says invalid media type, this is annoying as hell.

Most itunes purchased videos and movies are itunes protected meaning they dont play on Zunes or other mp3 players. Same goes with songs purchased through Itunes.

I believe there's a way around it to have your itunes stuff work on the zune.. something about changing the format and then burning it onto a CD?

It's odd because I got one of the songs onto the Zune but I can't get the other.

Thats right. If you burn the itunes songs to a disc and rip them through the zune software, you can play them on a zune. This doesnt work on videos though.

Aholbert, does that also work for itunes songs you want to use on a Creative zen mp3 player?

I just got my fiance a 120GB Zune for Christmas. We haven't had a chance to even turn it on yet but she is complaining it's too large compared to the new Itouch. The solution is going to be to get one of the 8gb Zunes for portability and use the 120gb Zune for car use/video etc. It appears you can use up to 3 Zunes with one ZunePass so that will work out well. I also love that Microsoft is putting effort into updating the Zune consistently.

I do really like the looking of the Itouch and if I can find the spare cash this year I would love to purchase one just for the looks/video content and games. I woulden't even have a Zune if Apple had something like Zunepass but I can't deal with 99c a song when I can have unlimited for $15 a month and 10 songs right now with Zune.

Zune and Apple are the only players out there right now IMO. Creative and the others are falling behind.

Well, I just bought me a new 120GB Zune and I love this thing, the ZunePass seems like a good theory so far, I've already downloaded near 600 songs in the last hour from it.

I have a first gen 80GB Zune. The hardware is great, but the software is a bit funky and takes some getting used to. It's a bit blocky in design, but the big screen certainly makes up for it. Videos looks good on it. FM radio works well too.

In theory...But I'm pretty sure the music disappears once your subscription is up. And you can only access it with your Zune and Zune software. So you're paying to keep music that you technically don't own.

Thats how it works for movies so why not music.

You actually get to keep 10 (or 15?) songs a month, and the songs can be used on some other devices (I know for example some Nokia Phones).

But there are some work arounds to keep the music longer without paying for it.

Yea, use something else besides Zune Pass. lol. Nah, but it's no big deal, thank God for alternative ways to get music.
