they just came to my house with an offer for like $100 that comes with internet, unlimited phone, & about 400 channels cable box... i already have optimum online with it's silver iO package and phone package for $137 a month and was just wonderin which worked better and if it was worth switchin over and if there's any catches, etc

My friends have this in SI, and it's supposed to come out here any day now..for the price they're offering, it's a great plan considering it's fiber optics, so thus the speeds are better than cable. This is the next wave right here.

I'm switching to it ASAP. They have the boxes setup in my town, just waiting for them to kick off the service. It's much cheaper than Comcast where I live. The only downside right now for me is that they don't have NESN HD yet.

I'm wanting to get AT&T U-verse by the summer. Everyone is hoping that they start here in DFW by the middle of April and I'll give them time to work out the bugs and let you see more than one HD channel at a time. They have a little different system from Verizon where they do Fiber to the neighborhood versus straight to the house. Eventually I think they will abandon HD on the network and just use E* for all their HD services.

it's a good deal as far as the internet goes but... i just looked at their channel listings.. the guy who came to my house blatantly lied to me and said their tv service is equivalent to optimum gold... BAH... i'm too big a fan of all the hbo's and starz/encore channels that optimum gives me for free to warrant an extra 27.99 on the bill of the FiOS..

I have it. I'm paying roughly 140 per month for cable (HD included), internet (15m down/2m up), and phone service.

Absolutey love it.

I have the same internet package as Sully and I really like it (always blazing fast). We tried the TV for 30 days and didn't like it. It was all little things like the remote, menus, some problems with the DVR, etc.

If nothing else you should at least get the internet unless you're getting comparable speeds.

I have a friend who has it and he says it blows away Comcast. I'm going to switch probably at least my internet when it's available here in the next few months.

the speeds i get now are 15 down & 1.5 up.. what their offering me is 20 down and 5 up... i dunno... i'll wait till they fix their cable stuff cuz this cable package BLOWS without HBO on it

There is a Verizon / DirecTV / DSL package, one of them bought out the other, that package?

naw this offer is for their Premier TV package (over 200 channels, 2500 on-demand shows, and over 22 HD channels), Broadband Package (20 mbps/5mbps), and Verizon Freedom Essentials (unlimited long distance in US & Puerto Rico)


i'd switch because i'm tempted to see how their broadband is BUT there tv package sucks compared to what I have now and would probably be paying more than what i already pay if i'm to get all the channels my current provider gives me.

My folks just switched to it and I'm waiting for my dad's review (if my mother can handle it I know my wife will figure it out too!)...If I had to guess though I will probably make the move once my wife goes out on maternity leave in about 6 weeks...she works from home and I don't want to screw anything up with the internet connection in the immediate future.

Everyone I've talked to likes it though.

How much installation needs to be done? Do they have to rewire the entire house?

I want it, but I'm sure in won't have Comcast Philly -- which is what I watch most of the time.
