Anyone who has seen Prince knows he belongs in the top 10. No Steve Vai? No Eric Johnson? No Joe Satriani? I don't like "shredders," but there's little question those guys can play.
And if you're talking influence, what about Tom Verlaine from Television? And George Harrison, anyone?
Clapton? B.B. King? Randy Rhoads? Ritchie Blackmore? Duane Allman? Kirk Hammett? Carlos Santana? The Edge? Mark Knopfler? Slash?
Once again, Kurt Cobain? To put him on that list is beyond comical -- it's criminal.

I agree especially about Steve and Joe, but is Richards that good, maybe he is I just don't see it. Blackmore is still me personal favorite. I like Slash a lot too. Harrison is so underrated it is not even funny! Plus Eric is should be in there.Comment

I smiled when I saw that. He never gets any kind of real recognition normally, and yet, IMO atleast, He is one of top 5 ever. Others will disagree and point out to someone who came before, or was on the radio more often, but Dimebag was truly one of the greatest ever.Comment

What would you guys recommend as a good second album for getting into Jimi? I've read that the two albums preceding Electric Ladyland have lousy production, especially the one that was released in 1967...Comment

I've heard all his stuff- So-I'd say,go with his live stuff! It will floor you! the energy and showmanship is in a league of it's own. You really can't go wrong with any of them,especially Monterey Pop Festival stuff. Some say the Isle of Wight stuff lacked ability,but that is debatable.
