Yeah these are solid movies. Johnny D. is a great actor in my opinion. I like him 21 jump street too. lol

This is getting mixed reviews on metacritic and rottentomatoes. It seems to follow more in line with the second where it tries to weave too much story/plot rather than keeping it simple and entertaining like the first one.

I'll still be checking this one out.

The first one was rather convoluted too. Not that it was hard to follow, but there were quite a few double crosses, and the movie did go on for a long time after even the resolution to the main conflict. There were quite a few false endings (as in, the movie could have ended at various points, but kept on going).

I loved the first one, liked the second, looking forward to the third, but I'm realistic as to what to expect. I don't expect it to be great, just good enough to enjoy watching at least once.

Just got back from seeing this and yes it does get rather confusing, but anyone with any kind of brain should still follow it pretty easy...the last 45 minutes are INSANE!!!

If you're looking for a great summer movie then this is something you need to catch in the best theater possible

Depp was hilarious, but it was Barbossa that took this movie and ran with it....if you're a fan of the first 2 you should love this

                      Before I get to impressions...

They played a Transformers trailer which looks absolutely unbelievable and I can't wait to see the movie. While I was stoked about that, I was very dissapointed with Evan Almighty. It seems more like a kid's movie this time around.

                      Okay here are my impressions:

My girlfriend summed it up perfectly..."I liked it, but it was really fairytale-ish." The movie is INCREDIBLY long and throughout the first hour and half I thought it was easily the worst of the 3. I thought a lot of it made absolutely no sense and I was thinking how it was even relevant to the main story.

However, the next hour-and-half was probably the best of any of the 3 so in the end I thought it was fantastic. It's cut from the same cloth as 2 as far as intervining storylines and such but they had more mindless comedy like the first one. I would rank them: 1,3,2. Great summer flick and I think people really need to see it in theater.

I won't give anything away but the ending surprised me and a lot of people in the audience. I think that a lot of people won't like it but I really thought it was a good way to end it.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End trailer!

                        Saw it today.

It's okay...but WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY too long.

Clocks in at nearly 3 hours.

There's at least forty five minutes of "who cares / they could have left that out" moments.

The audience i saw it with were getting pretty bored mid way through it.

The last half hour saves the film.

Good, but could have been edited to make it so much better imo.

Pirates 2 was also way too long.

                          I'll be seeing this tomorrow.

I like longer movies, but only if I am at home watching them. I can tolerate them at a theater, but I'd rather be at home in my La-Z-Boy. I hate the movies that are 90 minutes, and it barely feels like you watched anything.

I'm seeing it tonight. From the impressions it looks like I'm gonna have to go to an early showing so that I'm not at the theatre until 1 in the morning like with part 2.

Looking forward to seeing this at some point this weekend. Probably have to go to a matinee to find one that's not sold out.

just got back from seeing it... I liked it overall, but there was a point towards the end that I questioned is this what they were going for from the first movie? 2 and especially 3 had this epic LOTR feel to it... and after watching the first one I never got that feeling... it's like oh we have a hit now what the heck do we do?

Movie starts out depressing, then moves on to bizarre and then finally ends with an amazing last hour.... You'll know when it's about to get good when the captains meet on the island... Like I said I enjoyed it, and of course they hinted at 4th movie already, I think it was best in the series as I thought the first was way overrated....

But in the end, I don't think this movie will be nearly as good as the movie of the summer.... Transformers!
