Re: Rotten Tomatoes' 100 Worst-Reviewed Movies of All Time

Seems like all those movies were made after 1998 or something.

Anyway, I'm proud to say I've only seen one movie on that list; Stealing Harvard (#83).

I've seen a few of these movies. The only one I absolutely hated was BALLISTIC: ECKS VS SEVER. My uncle bought it for me when it came out on DVD. I promptly took it to Blockbuster and gave it to them after watching it.

The rest of the movies that i've seen were ok for what they were. I'm a little surprised DOOGAL is on the list simply because one shouldn't judge the Americanized version. I've heard the British cut/version of the movie is loads better.

        I've seen 9 of the 100.

So if there is gonna be a movie that comes out that is bottom 100 horrible, my chances of seeing it are 9%.

          Starting the countdown...

#83 Stealing Harvard - watched about half, mainly for Jason Lee, who was WAY off his game and thus the movie was easily turned off.

#59 Jawbreaker - weren't there some tits in that movie?

#57 I Still Know What You Did Last Summer - Jennifer Love Hewitt was like a goddess to me in high school, had to see it. Don't remember much except the cleavage and the lame horror plot (which is why I was turned off of horror flicks...the writing just SUCKS).

#53 Envy - my wife and I TRIED watching it (she really likes Jack Black while I hate Ben Stiller) and quit about 20 minutes from the end. She'll usually finish movies, so when she quits on a crapper, its REALLY bad!

Not too many. I'm proud of myself!

Lessons learned...don't see any movie with Martin Lawrence (other than 'Bad Boys'), Cedric the Entertainer, any pop star, ex-Saturday Night Live stars or movies based on SNL sketches, sequels where the original star electively chooses not to come back, or anything by Uwe Boll (but we knew that one already ). Good thing I practice much of that anyway since I'm a cheapskate when it comes to theatrical film going.

Also, did it seem to anyone else that a lot of recent movies were on there? I know it's an online review site, and with the internet there are exponentially more reviews on films today than decades ago, but there to be some steaming piles of **** that came out in the 60's, 70's, and of course the 80's!

I'm kinda surprised the cliched pick of PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE wasn't mentioned, then I remember what you just said. Yeah it's definitely modern era.

RT advertised the list as "all time," as in since the inception of Rotten Tomatoes. There have obviously been worse movies over the entire lifespan of the cinema.

Hmm...I thought "all time" meant ALL TIME. Guess I misunderstood.

                      89. The Number 23: I thought it was ok. Took awhile to get going though.

Seen many of those movies, not all to the end though. those that I did see to the end are

                        Slackers
                        white noise
                        kangaroo jack
                        stealing harvard (LOVED IT!!)
                        the wash
                        the new guy
                        boat trip
                        date movie
                        ISKWYDLS (last summer)
                        Envy (LOVED IT!!)
                        Johnson Family Vacation
                        Universal Soldier: the Return
                        Corky Romano
                        Epic Movie

I'm suprised Soul Plane, which I also was fond of, didn't make the list.

Of all 100, my favorites are A Man Apart and Out Cold. Out Cold is flat out hilarious to me. And A Man Apart was a pretty good movie I thought, and Diesel did a pretty good job.
