I don't know about his other stuff. Tony at times sounded like Joe Turner from Rainbow
I was reading that "Headless Cross" is very good and the best from Martin. Since that album is OOP it might be hard to locate, but I will try to look for it. I really like the Ozzy era as another poster posted above, but I'm also starting to like Dio Sabbath stuff to just from what I heard off of the Dio Years.

I guess the only thing that really has hurt this band from what I read was the issue with the revolving door of singers. From my perspective and I could be wrong, they were so much in a hurry to release albums that they just would bring in singer after singer and that messed up their identity.

If they were patient and it was only Ozzy, Dio, and Martin as the singers that ever sang for this group than there would have been some consistancy.....again, I'm no expert or know too much about the band after Ozzy, but my perception on things.

Good song there-I really like "Kill in the spirit world" . But "Call of the wild" is where he really rips loose on the vocals

            Re: Black Sabbath

The music combo of Sabbath and Dio is a recipe for a great recording. I've liked Dio ever since he was in Elf. He had some song called something like "Dark (black?)smokey water " or something like that, not too sure on that title. Good song nonetheless.

Kinda funny about the Headless Cross CD for me. Candyman mentioned about it being OOP. I haven't seen it except in the occasional used CD store or a hock shop many years ago. I got my copy from a friend that bought it at a yard sale for 50 cents. He knew I liked Sabbath and gave me it. Still have it,all scratched up but it doesn't skip or anything.

Bolt is older like we are, but it just irritates me when someone calls others out and then never returns.

"Headless Cross" was going for $80+ on ebay when I checked the other day. It would be cool if they released a greatest hits for Martin and the other guys, but under one compilation.

I actually found on the net that outside of North America, they released a greatest hits of songs from 1983-1995 titled "The Sabbath Stones". I'm gonna try to order the Import which then will give me a taste of the Martin years.

You might be kidding, but I'm not. Its poor taste when people are called out and then that person never returns after talking smack.

                  Here is the track listing:

                  "Headless Cross" (Headless Cross)
                  "When Death Calls" (Headless Cross)
                  "Devil And Daughter" (Headless Cross)
                  "The Sabbath Stones" (Tyr)
                  "The Battle Of Tyr" (Tyr)
                  "Odin's Court" (Tyr)
                  "Valhalla" (Tyr)
                  "TV Crimes" (Dehumanizer)
                  "Virtual Death" (Cross Purposes)
                  "Evil Eye" (Cross Purposes)
                  "Kiss Of Death" (Forbidden)
                  "Guilty As Hell" (Forbidden)
"Loser Gets It All" (Forbidden Japanese version)
                  "Disturbing The Priest" (Born Again)
"Heart Like A Wheel" (Seventh Star)
                  "The Shining" (The Eternal Idol)

                    Re: Black Sabbath

I don't know a good deal of those songs on that C.D. I'll ask my friend about that one too. I'd listen to it though because I like TonyIomni and Geezer butler enough to listen to anything I've never heard by them. BTW-Dehumanizer should still be pretty easy to find,I'd reccomend that one to pick up. Dio's voice is very strong and ANGRY on alot of tracks on that one.
One more thing that I forgot: Next Friday on XM radio, the Boneyard channel will be Tony Iomni and Ronnie James Dio playing some of their favorite songs and talking about the new tour and stuff! I think it is 12PM EST. you might want to clarify that though. Dio is scheduled to be on The Mark & Brian Radio Show next Friday morning. I don't know if you get that where you live or not. Just wanted to throw that out to you. BTW-glad your'e liking the many faces of Sabbath so far. Just be careful with some of Martin's stuff-you might get bored. Those other guys, except for Ian Gillian,I don't know a thing about them. Except that Glenn Hughes used to be in Deep Purple also.

I've seen Dehumanizer and Mob Rules at a few stores. Dio has a very strong voice and even on Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime 2 which Dio sang a song last year he still had a strong voice.

I don't have XM Radio, so I won't be able to check that out next week. Thanks for posting that info.

Dio Sabbath from what I have heard so far is very good. Too bad they couldn't continue with him at the helm. I really don't know what Ozzy can do now, the guy has been a mess the last few years so him being on stage could be a disaster. Just reading around, it appears that Sharon has had a big thing trying to keep Iommi from bringing in another singer to keep the band going.

Yes, I have listened to Rainbow and Dio (solo) which is some good stuff.

If you go over to Iommi's official message boards, some of the guy there have some very interesting thoughts about Ozzy, Sabbath, Dio, Etc.
