Re: Video Editing
Ya mac is where its at....
I was actually at friends house last night, and he was trying to make a dvd with Windows Movie Maker (which im not even sure you can do?) and was watching and just laughing....
Because Mac is so much easier and you can make some slick stuff with iMovie and iDVD (which comes on every mac)PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: Video Editing
For simple cuts and minor effects, it's really not that bad at all, especially being free and coming from Microsoft. However, once you step up past WMM, the differences are huge and noticeable... but for a first time video editor, WMM should do the trick.
For a community dedicated to WMM, check out http://windowsmoviemakers.net. There's a guy on there named papajohn, take everything he says as scripture; the guy definitely knows his stuff. Also on there are various effects that people created and a really good message board for questions and such. Good luck.Comment

Re: Video Editing
Or if you want the "real real" video editing tool you want Avid, it's the industry standard. I have one at my house and work (I'm video producer). Vob files are dvd files...you can download a free srtipped down version of avid from there website and it would serve you just fine for editing but won't accept your vob files (see mpegstreamclip). Although, video editing apps won't accept vob files for those you would need something like mpegstream clip (free). Final Cut isn't horrible by any means most "indie" folks use it becuase its cheaper than avid. For you're work I would go with something like Imovie or maybe the free avid software.-JoshComment

Re: Video Editing
So Ulead finally came in...
What I did was just play the whole video and download it...
The problem is that its an hour long and 18.9 GB (WTF??)
Anyways, its in .AVI and what I want to do now is split the video. Like, some parts are at the beach and another elsewhere, so I want to burn different parts to different DVDs--are there any programs to do this?
Also, i noticed Ulead doesnt have many editing options... or maybe I just missed them??PSN: Peji911Comment

Re: Video Editing
The only issue I had was that I couldn't burn it to DVD. I had to use a seperate program for that - Sonic.Comment
