I think most people are upset because of the censorship. People pay for a service and do not wish to have that service censored.

I would be like HBO cancelling the Sopranos because they showed too much violence. You expect that crap from networks but not from cable. Same with satellite radio. You would expect free radio to pander to the PC masses, but not pay radio.

Like I said, I hate shock jocks. They pander to the lowest common denominator. BUT what they say should not be subject to censorship.
Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, they don't even care. I told them I've very unhappy. They said, "so you wanna cancel?" I said it's a possibility, and she goes "Ok, I can have you cancelled right now if you like?"

I said "I can't believe you're so willing to lose customers" She puts me on hold and that's where I'm at right now..

All I want is free service lady, offer it to me! LOL

She got back, didn't offer me jack. Gave me the head complaint office # 202-380-4000.

So, I go "How many services have you lost so far" She laughs and goes "I've been here since 7AM, I've cancelled 47 accounts so far by myself"

After a night of thinking about it, if they are fired, I'll be jumping to Sirius. Ijun is right about this, I didn't pay for censorship of a pay service, I paid to hear stuff like that. Yes, it really crossed the line, but if you don't like, don't listen. There's no FCC guidelines here. I've heard worse stuff on HBO comedy specials and what not.
Ron & Fez are great, and a reason why I kept one of my subs to XM. Canceled 2 others.

O&A were on regular radio from 6-9, they are only suspended from XM, not CBS.

LOL, did they talk about it? That's funny that they were only on regular radio. Which means I have to turn off my XM to listen to them this afternoon (they broadcast afternoons in Cleveland).

That actually sucks for me. I bought stock in XM and Sirius when it was first offered. My house on the beach and boat to go fishing on in 30 years is depending on that stock, damnit!

I have not paid for my service for the last month. They are so hard hard up for Subs that my account was linked to an old credit card that I had to cancel due to some fraud. I had always heard that you could milk your sub for free for a long time or get reduced rates by threatening Sirius. They are probably so busy due to this that the operators will just cancel you without trying to keep you on board. My sub ran out April 15th, have not paid to re-up and am listening to it on my desk at work as we speak.

This is the only I have not called to cancel. I will keep listeing to it for free until they cancel but the odds are very good that I will have Sirius by the end of the weekend.

The local broadcast today was not O&A. They are on a station that is affiliated with Fox Sports and some other morning show was on.

Re: Opie and Anthony suspended from XM

my biggest pet peeve, if you will, is this: how can you suspend someone because of comments made over unregulated, pay-for air?

oh well, here I go again to be put on hold.

I feel bad for the reps at XM taking these calls

Sad thing though, if Stern fans think they are in the clear, they will have an issue as well (least I still have Sirus).

RUMOR: according to some people, XM has LOST at least 35,000 subs right now...

actually from a post from another site: the guy said they've had 47000 cancellations as of 4pm and 12 people in their call center have quit due to the stress

Way to stand strong! Jk, I would have done the same

This stuff is pretty interesting. On the one hand XM employs these guys and therefore have the right to suspsend/fire them for almost whatever reason they find necessary. On the other hand, they advertise themselves as being uncensored radio making suspending somebody for distasteful remarks pretty stupid. It sounds like the suspension was more a result of O&A's comments after the fact, discussing the XM management and such. So the XM managment wants to prove a point that they run the show and suspend these guys, and then they wake up the next morning with somewhere around $500,000 a month in supscriptions cancelled. Ouch. I know O&A can't be happy about being suspended, but I think it is pretty funny that it is XM who is getting hurt more by the move now. Don't advertise yourself as being an uncensored media if you are going to take offense to what your hired shock-jocks are going to say and don't make things personal by suspsending these guys because they didn't appriciate your verbal repremands. I'm not business major, but false advertising and letting personal feelings get in the way of business don't seem like very good ways to run a succesful business.

see the bad part is I used to work in that type of field.. when I got the nice woman on the phone, I couldn't... however, if it is true that they are actually fired (gag order on right now, but Op's brother is telling people to cancel)..

PS- they (XM) are claiming that the suspension is NOT from the actual comment, but rather that they "broke their contract" with XM..
