    Paris Hilton's sentenced is reduced

So now she only gets 23 days for good behavior before going to jail. I wonder if I could use this if i violate probation twice.
    http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/0....ap/index.html
Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior, Whitmore said. Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date, he said.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

You mean the court date she showed up late for? I guess the Hiltons offered to buy the sheriff's department some new patrol cars or something.

California is the only state I've ever seen where you can violate your probation twice and get your jail sentence reduced in half.

Somebody in the thread that got locked had a good idea about the Roman Colosseum. I wish we had one. You get someone who is annoying like Paris Hilton and throw them in there. Give them 10 minutes to tell us why we should spare them, and then even if the crowd votes to spare her, release the lions on her anyway.

No real surprise. I never thought she'd serve a day in jail.

Sadly, this is exactly what's wrong with the youth of America. No accountability whatsoever. They screw up and take no responsibility for what they did, because they know their parents are gonna uphold them in what they're doing.

So whining to every available news outlet that the judge was unjust in sentencing you to prison for violating your probation is now good behavior. At this rate Scott Peterson will be out in 2 years.

isn't that what parents are supposed to do? parents sticking up for their kids and helping them out of any situation?

Not when you know they're wrong. I know when I was younger and I screwed up,my old man wasn't upholding me in anything.

If I was caught violating probation twice and getting caught doing something that could get me or others killed, my parents would not just let me get out of going to jail. And it's not like they were just sticking up for her, her mother was acting as if it was an injustice for her to be held accountable for what she did.

it's one thing to teach them a lesson, it's another to have your kid spend a month and a half in jail.

It's one thing to be caught driving under the influence once and getting a good probation deal, it's another to get caught doing it again, blaming it on your publicist, and then whining about how going to jail is unfair. I don't know too many parents who would be proud of their kid for that kind of behavior.

Personally no I have not. Of the judges I know I think I can safely speak for them when I say they would be sickened by this kind of treatment for the affluent. Does anyone know if judges in California are appointed or elected?
