Yes... the jailbreak is actually complete but there is a wait to see if the final is 100% equal to the GM. It's actually not that bad but I never really used PDANet. I miss me some SlingPlayer over 3G though.



Personally, if you have a 3G I don't think there is a big enough disparity in the new hardware to upgrade. Original iPhone owners are the ones that should seriously consider doing it. 32GB's of storage for $300 minus any possible money you can make selling the original? That's a no brainer.

I never really used PDAnet either, I actually just restored my Iphone to regular 2.2.1 yesterday and it seems to be running better. The only thing I miss is being able to turn wifi on/off really quickly (forgot what it's called) by swiping my finger along the top bar. I really wish Apple would implement something like this by swiping your finger or touching the batter meter. It would be cool if a little menu came down to turn on/off network settings, wifi, 3G, really fast like that instead of going through the menu system.

You can restore your iPhone back to factory settings anytime you want and they can't tell. I just did it to my iphone yesterday.

just upgraded to a white 32gb 3gs (online) I didn't buy mine on launch but have the 2g and it was $299. Can't remember when I bought mine.

what if i upgrade to a new iPhone 3Gs, what happens to all my apps on my phone i got from the app store? do i have to re-download or will itunes sync them up with the new phone?

also, guys with the white iphones, do they tend to get dirty on the back pretty easy?

edit: ok, i figured this out money wise from when i sold the storm lol.. playing with paypal money here.

i can get a 32g 3gs and a 16g 3gs for around 550 with fees. that is covered from the storm sale.

i then could sell my iphone 3g for what, maybe $200 to $250 bc of the no contract? correct?

then i can justify upgrading bc her and i get new phones for only around $260 or so..

not bad considering we both are tight wads and would rather save than spend. ugh!!

lol i guess.. i finally had a few mins and figure that crap out. so much going on as of late my mind going 20 different directions.

not to bad IMO 2 new phones for a lil over the price of a 16g gs..

although, i was still on the fence, but she said what the hell, lets do it..

so thank you pittsburgh penguins for giving me a blackberry storm to sell and get 2 new iphones with. lets go pens!! do it in game 7...

itunes will sync them the first time you sync the new phone. Everything will be synced tot he new phone (contacts, email accounts etc.).

if you have the 2g check and see if you can upgrade to the new one. Might be able to get the $199 / $299 deal. I am not up for renewal on my contract and I got the new one. Think I am close though.

I just remembered that I would like to have A2DP and the ability to use the Internet while talking. So now is the time to upgrade from my original iPhone.
