Just got a verizon iphone 4. I am required have a smartphone for my new job next month, and couldn't be happier. I got an anti-glare screen protector and a nice speck case.

One question- do you guys tend to close the apps or just keep them running in the background? Does it slow it down to keep them all running?

The vast majority of apps run fine in the background as they just take up memory, which there is plenty with 512mb. iOS does a great job managing open apps on its own, as it restricts what they can do in the background.

So my Droid X basically broke itself last night after the update. I'm getting the white iPhone 4 today.

Only bad thing, I have no way of getting my 500+ contacts off the phone. Unless i saved it to the SD card, which I Pray I did.

So, I'm having a hard time deciding between the 16GB or the 32. I'm leaning towards the 16 because I already have a 16GB touch, and I'd only put the music I'll really listen to on my phone. But at the same time, the extra space would be nice so I don't always have to feel like I have to take something off.

I'd go with the 32 gig. Even if you aren't planning to, you always seem to find ways to bump right up to the limit.

Yea I would go with the 32 gig. I recently bought the white 16 gig in may an while I still have 5 gigs left you can never go wrong with extra space.

Is the droid dead? If not, use idrive app to backup your contacts the download them to iPhone with the same app.

I just left verizon and somehow my phone was hacked! But I never did it, NO ONE, EVER uses my phone and I bought it off there website the day it came out.

Then the guy had the balls to try and say I did it. I was about 2 sec away from goin to jail. Cause I was about to break his jaw.

I went ahead and made the plunge. I'm iOS 5 Beta on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2.. Tethered jailbreak at that... Works well so far though.

I thought they had some type of fix to prevent the tethering workaround seeing that everyone and their mother was wearing down the network.

Still holding out hope that the upgrade to the iPhone 5 will be worth it. If not, the iPhone 4 will be a lot cheaper and work smoother than my 3Gs which is begging to die.

I'm tempted to put the iOS 5 beta on my Verizon iPhone, but I hear the battery life isn't so great as its not a final release. Also, I don't have a developer account, so i'd have to use a shady workaround to get it to work. I think i'll just wait until the final release comes out. There's nothing I have to have in iOS 5.

a tethered jailbreak means that he has to plug it in via usb to turn it on if he has turned it off

different than internet tethering where one uses their cell phone to provide internet to a wifi only ipad

Beta doesn't seem rough on my battery. Actually, I think my battery does better with the beta than it did with iOS 4. That may also be due to the fact that I'm not running things like Notified Pro, but I've been tethering via bluetooth for about 7 hours now and I haven't hit 20% yet.

If you need to get on a developers account you can do that for like 3-4 bucks. Just check eBay lol.
