You probably have a two month wait from what I've read at this point.

BTW, Bloomberg has submitted a story about the Sprint iPhone. That pretty much seals the deal - they don't run articles unless they are as certain as can be...

Unlimited data plans will differentiate them from AT&T/Verizon.

The problem with Sprint, service is spotty.

Sprint would benefit from a merger with T-mobile, immensely.

I am so glad I am still grandfathered on my AT&T Unlimited Data plan. 2-year is up, but I still get the same plan month to month.

I just found out there was no "unlimited" plan the other day. Since I really don't pay much attention to that stuff. Such a crappy thing for them to do.

Hopefully Sprint can make them change again, but their service is spotty at best most of the time, at least in my area. People I know who have it lose service every mile they drive.

I've been pretty resistant to the iPhone phenomenon since its inception. As a Sprint user, it's not like I've had much choice. I was intrigued when I heard it was going to Verizon earlier this year, but again, I resisted.

I'm now conceding it's the best phone on the market, at least by popularity standards. And with it rumored to be coming to Sprint next month, I'm tempted to take the plunge. I hope there are some sort of incentives to entice those folks who have been loyal to Sprint to purchase an iPhone (assuming the rumors are true that Sprint will carry the device).

I've had Blackberry's the past four years and a BB Bold the past year and a half. In comparison, the BB tech is so dated and non-user-friendly when compared to the iPhone and certainly other smartphones. I think it's time to make the switch.

As an aside, how is the battery life on a typical iPhone? I guess as customers we are handcuffed, but it frankly pisses me off a bit that every thing about cell phones has advanced except for battery life, which has taken a huge step backwards in general. It almost seems as though smartphone users have gotten so used to it that it's not at the forefront of cell phone complaints.

I remember I had no service issues with Sprint in NYC except for this ONE place on the 7 train in queens.

No idea how it is now but my family has it and they don't complain.

Really though, best phone by popularity, yes. Best phone? Hard to say. A lot of excellent phones out. Have to wait and see what the 5 has to offer.

A lot of what the 5 is offering, has been out already. 1.2-1.5 dual core, 8MP, dual flash, etc. 5 will sell, clearly. Apple has their market sewed up.

For the longest time, I had no issue with Sprint's service. But I guess I was still in nostalgia a bit b/c I often thought back to how AWFUL Nextel's service was prior to the merge.

Today, I just seem to notice it more. I guess what brought it to my attention is when I moved to another place, my phone is often roaming or I drop calls. And when I can get a call through, I better not move -- whereas my roommate (a Verizon subscriber) gets great service in the same location. I'm sure towers have something to do with it, but signal strength is signal strength and I'm def seeing the flaws in Sprint's coverage.

I dig the EVO, as my sis and mother both have 'em. But batt life is a huge issue for them as well. It is what it is though, right lol?

As Pared already mentioned, battery life has been great!

But if you're worried about battery life, you could look into this - recharges your phone up to 4 times!

It's certainly a nice accessory to have in those "I'm not going to be near an outlet/car for a while" moments.

I've been a phone whore since 2008. But the iPhone is the first I gave up, and immediately wanted back. For me, this is the best phone.

Had a Droid, loved it. Got an iPhone4, fell in love w/ it. Got a thunderbolt due to upgrade, missed my iPhone. Took it back and got the iPhone back.

I've been a phone whore since 2008. But the iPhone is the first I gave up, and immediately wanted back. For me, this is the best phone.

I hated Apple with a passion years ago. Mostly because I worked at a college networking the computers, etc an the old G3 Macs etc could never be worked on, had to sub them out, and the system RAM never flushed itself, so you had to reboot the things every few hours due to running out of memory.

And seeing all the trendy people rave and knock PCs online annoyed the hell out of me.

But since they went with mainstream computer parts, etc I have warmed up to them more.

2 years ago, played with the 3Gs when I needed a new phone, walked out with the 32GB that day as a birthday gift to myself. It was before the Droid hit. I seen my friends all go through Droids... top of the line ones you name it. I seen them having to replace them due to the OS getting corrupted and messing up the phone numerous times. The interface while more "forgiving/customizable" than a stock non-jailbreak iPhone, it is stuttery and clunky and not smooth comparatively. They all ended up getting the iPhone 4 cause they were tired of it. The damn phone just works.

I was gonna consider a Droid, but nope, I will get the new iPhone when it hits, or wait for next year's version which "should" be a larger leap other than multiple faster cores.

I am also considering a MacBook now after using 42's at the community event. But will always remain PC for desktops due to me liking Windows 7 and loving PC gaming all my life.

The biggest thing to coming back to the iPhone was the UI of everything. How apps worked and what not just made more sense on the iPhone than it did on the droid phones. The only thing I miss about my moto Droid is the keyboard and swype it.
