Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I have 1 hour usage with little over 2 hours in standby and its now 76%.A glimmer of hope?
German site Macerkopf reports [Google translation] that Apple is working on two separate software updates for iOS 5, looking at both near-term...
EDIT: On second thought, my battery life may not be as bad as I originally thought. I have 2 hours of actual usage and over 8 hours of stand by and my batter is at 75%. That's pretty much in line with what Apple was advertising. I guess since I have the battery percentage displayed, I get all cynical about it.
Pre 5.0.1 my last cycle was: 12 hours, 25 minutes usage // 1 day, 22 hours standby with 19% remaining
Another pre 5.01 cycle: 6 hours, 27 minutes usage // 1 day, 4 hours standby with 12% remainingLast edited by av7; 11-17-2011, 05:33 AM.Aaron

Whoa! That is a serious drop-off. Hopefully, that fix is coming soon. You shouldn't have to charge during the day at all.PSN: xxplosive1984Originally posted by J. Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I personally blame Brett for him telling me the new update was out so all battery life issues, its on him.
I wasnt expecting the battery life to dip down any, still no real complaints though since my other phone would have to be charged 2-3 times a dayAaron

Mine is at 4 hours usage but only 13 hours standby and is at 26%.
Does that extra hour really cut out 20% ( compared to you ) in contrast to you having an extra 28 hours of standby?
I'm not sure.

So something has to be wrong. Maybe it's a setting? I have brightness on auto. Wondering if that could be affecting anything?
Maybe push notifications. I don't have mail pushing. Definitely have Facebook.
I guess there are too many variables.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I have no issues with my battery life since the release of the 5.0.1. Make sure you 'close' open apps that will help save your battery life big time. Double click the 'home' button and you will see the apps that are open, just hold on them and simply close them out with the - button.
This will help a lot.Comment

Oh wow, is this right? I did that and every app I've ever used was apparently open. We'll see how this works out, thanks man.PS: You guys are great.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I'm positive that is not that case as Apps don't run in background as they do on Android.Comment

The double tap app list is just a recently used apps list.
Those apps aren't open.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
You sure about that? If I go and re-open one of the apps using the double tap method, it will open the app to where I initially closed it. If I remove it from the bottom then re-open it, the app will refresh.PS4 | jamiedallaireComment

I'm not sure what you mean?
If you closed it from the double tap screen and reopened it then it should reappear on the recently used screen.
I have several apps listed on that screen that require loading completely when I open them. If they were running in the background, shouldn't they not have to do that?
I could be wrong. I'm simply asking now.
