    Re: iPhone Discussion Thread

From my experience, it depends on the app.

I have a game that reloads everytime I load it, regardless if I restart the app altogether or use the "double tap" technique being discussed.

Other apps always brings me back to where I left off, regardless of whether or not I close the app in the "double click" screen.

But there are some apps that I have that will only bring me back to where I left off if I don't close them in the "double click" screen. If I close them, then the app completely restarts when I open it next time.

I try to always close all apps when I'm done using them. I feel that when I forget, my battery drains faster. But for some reason I was under the impression that apps run in the background if you don't, so maybe it's a mental thing

That is what I always thought and many say that apps run in the background. Since closing my apps with the 'double tap' I have seen my battery life has done really well.

It's only been several hours since my last recharge, but I'm definitely seeing the battery drain slower than what it was before. I think he's on to something. Thanks again for the tip texasgmr.

Downloaded a Superman game and a google music app from the app store today. The game for .99 is fun and the music app 1.99 works well if you have a google music account, syncs all your music very quickly.

Double-tapping the home button lists all your recently used apps but it doesn't mean that ALL of those apps are running in the background. It varies from app to app. As a rule of thumb, you shouldn't have pages upon pages of apps in the multitasking bar to prevent memory leaks and any drain on your battery.

I personally only have three pages/swipes of apps in my multitasking bar.

I'll give it a try. Can't hurt. Expect many thank yous if I see improvement.

                Nah. Not seeing improvement.

                1 hr usage
                3 hrs standby
                Battery 82%

Just doesn't seem right to me.

Whoops. Down to 81% as I typed this.

At this pace, four hours usage would kill my battery.

No way I could get 8 hours on the phone. Maybe my phone needs to be replaced. Well, I'd feel confident that's the case if many other people weren't experiencing the same.

200 standby hours? Wow. I doubt it. Just not seeing the same returns.

I played 3 straight games of Family Feud (I'm a beast, btw ) and when I was done, I was down 40% (from 90 to 50). However, I never have to charge during the day, whereas when I was on an Android device, I'd have to charge throughout the say. Can't complain too much.

I love that game. But my question is are you actually playing someone or does it just show somebody's name and picture and the CPU plays for them. Cause I have only lost once in probably 20 games. And I rarely get every answer in each round.

Yeah, I think the computer is playing for them. Or the person has answered those questions before and the games stores their answers to compare against yours. I still haven't won the fast money round yet. Fun game.

I have won it once with 205. Usually get around 110-115. Love the game though
