Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
No special program.
Watch the video it has the details but...
1) Go to song you want.
2) Right Click and select "Get Info"
3) Go to options where you select start stop time.
4) Enter in values to create 30 second song. (So 0:00 to 0:30 or 1:16 to 1:46 etc.)
5) Right click and select Export to AAC.
6) Click and drag created song to desktop.
7) Change extension from .m4a to .m4r
8) Drag song back into itunes.
At this point, you songs should appear in the Ring tunes section of Itunes.
Sync' your iPhone and your new songs should appear.
Works with update and any song.PS4: aBayBates

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
What I needed to do was go to preferences and check the box that said copy files to iTunes. After I did that it worked fine, so that had to be the step that was missingComment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Already checked. It shows up under the ringtone list when I click on it in the left column of the main itunes screen and it also shows up under the ringtone tab when the iphone is synced to the computer. No idea what's wrong...PS4: aBayBates

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
Check your AAC settings in preferences. I had it set to custom (no idea why) and some songs just wouldn't work. I switched to highest setting and now every song works.Comment

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
It's not every time, as I had it plugged for a few hours to my pc yesterday. I plugged it up today and both times within 5 minutes my pc shuts off and I have to wait 5 minutes or so before I can power it back on.
The fan seems to be work as I feel air in the back, I don't have the problem when I am browsing the net or doing anything else, only when I plug my iPhone in.
Weird...Comment

SDK to be delayed anywhere from a week to three weeks?
BusinessWeek: iPhone SDK to arrive late

In a recent BusinessWeek blog post, writer Arik Hesseldahl says he has information from one of his sources that the long awaited iPhone SDK might well be delayed. According to the source, the delay could be anywhere from one to three weeks; with February drawing to a close and no announcement yet of an Apple event, this could very well be true.
The post goes on to say that last minute preparations are being made, and that the SDK release is a complex process (which tracks with our reporting as well). BusinessWeek has generally been respectable when it comes to sussing out Apple rumors (they did, in fact, break the rumor about the iPhone SDK a day before Steve Jobs announced it back in October). However, like with most rumors, there are always a wide variety of opinions.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
What case do you all have? I have one (forgot what it's called, but it has a place for ear phones in the back, but I don't care for it too much)
I might get this case... a little expensive, but looks very nice and a lot of people love it

Also do you have have a screen protector?
I am thinking about going for either of these two.

Re: iPhone Discussion Thread
I've got this one. It was my third one. It's a hard shell with slots for the dock, speakers, volume, lock/unlock button and the power button. The entire front is open, so you may want to look into a screen protector, but so far so good and it's been about 3-4 months.PS4: aBayBates
