My phone hasn't been able to "activate the celluar network" all day, any suggestions? I have a 3gs if it matters.

Turn your phone off and then on. If it's messing up on you, you could do a reset and restore it through itunes after backing it up.

I wasn't home all day and the 3g was working fine but as soon as I got home it went dead again. I tried all the restarts, restores, and stuff and none of them worked. It's bizarre it worked all day but once I got into my neighborhood it died.

iOS 5 is a joke, apple devs stole tweaks from Cydia, android, rim and called it new,
My iPhone 4 is already doing most of those features, lol apple, step it up

True. The only positive is that for most people who don't know how-to JB or don't want to, they can enjoy what iOS should've been doing a long time ago. Now if they would just let us theme the damn phone any way we want, I wouldn't even jailbreak anymore.

I personally don't care about iPhone 5 or 6 major overhaul, the phone is pretty solid, but what needs a major update for me is the iOS, it's a solid mobile os, but is really outdated and needs to be revamped and added features, apple should really learn from jailbroken community, people aren't jailbreaking there phones for no reason

For example new iphone that can copy and paste like that should of been in since the stock iphone and the ipad2 now has a front facing camera like that couldn't have been put it in the first ipad when all of apples laptops had front facing cameras for years.

Plus a slightly larger screen from 3.7-4 inches. It's supposed to have the same design, but the screen will go from edge to edge, allowing the screen to be larger while keeping the exact same design.

It's supposed to be 4G for AT&T, but not for Verizon. LTE chips are too power hungry and the 2nd gen version chipsets with lower power consumption aren't supposed to be available until late this year/early next year.

I love the rants about taking Cydia tweaks and calling it new.

If they do it better, we win.

I hate having to jailbreak for lockscreen and better notifications. If they implement it in to iOS5, then I don't have to jailbreak anymore.

Btw, Lockscreen is paid app on cydia. iOS 5 won't cost customers a dime.

I'm all for Apple making all these new features standard on the iOS. It makes everyone's life easier.

What I can't stand is their stance on not "allowing" us to customize OUR phones the way we want to. Apple taking a page (or 5) from the jailbreak community just shows how much that community has contributed to the development of iOS even if Apple won't admit to it. Now, if they would stop hating on that same community by trying to shut us out with each new update, everything will be golden.

And this comes from an Apple fanboy.

That's all that matters. Many here lose sight of that fact and enjoy getting caught up in the "war." Sad.

Won't happen. The way the phone is setup now, it's the only way they'll restrict privacy. And an app like Winterboard is always running in the background, hindering performance. You may claim you don't visually see it, but what about the older devices? Winterboard on a 3GS and iOS4 is already noticeably impacting performance.
