Baseball Superstars 2009 is pretty fun. A lot of modes, even a career mode. How do you throw to a base? They seem to throw it for me.

I think this will be the first app I buy.

Will Slugger look good and play well on a 2g iphone?

On the D pad (bottom left) you can press towards the base you want them to throw too. Not sure about Slugger but I would imagine it will play fine.

I've used Fring, Skype, AIM, IM+, Palringo and MobileChat. They don't compare. Of course, if BeeJive doesn't have the IM clients that you need, my point is moot.

Go with what works for you. If you use AIM/Gchat/Facebook/Yahoo/MSN heavily, there really isn't anything close.

I wanted you to convince me to buy BeeJive. lol

My point was that I use Fring now because it's free. Last I used BeeJive was when it was a free iPhone webapp and it had support for AIM/Yahoo/Google/MSN. Does it support the same stuff now but just a paid app?

That's the point though; I'm not a salesman when it comes to IM apps.

If a UI isn't important to you, then there isn't much left to sell. Metacontacts? You can combine multiple IM clients into one contact.

Not sure what you're looking for. Perhaps read the reviews on the app in the App Store.

With push (which works excellently for me on about a days usage) for Gchat and AIM, I'm completely happy.

Nothing better for sales than customer satisfaction!

App Store reviews blow and you can't trust most of them.

Thanks though. Hopefully I didn't make you too comfortable with that. I wasn't looking for a sales pitch (well..maybe) but your experience with using both in their current form. I trust your opinion. If the UI flows well and the integration is tight then I'll likely buy it.

The thing I don't like about paid App store purchases is that you can't demo apps before you buy (ala Xbox Live Arcade). You're basically locked into an App that's say...$9.99 that isn't what you really wanted.

Two questions...

Are there any IM protocols that you know of that push notifications don't work on? I only use Google, AIM, and MSN.

Is there an option to hide IM contents when the push notifications pop onscreen. Sort of like how you can opt to hide SMS contents when the app isn't open.

my old iphone 3g 8 gig sold for $315...

It's server based, so if the program supports the IM protocol, then it supports push. Fring might eventually do it as well, so maybe you just want to wait. All I know is it works extremely well right now on Beejive.

You can't hide the popup contents. That's actually a great question! I tried to do that but you'd have to disable the alert altogether.

Seems like it is something we might get in a revision.

As an alternative, you can just check the icon and see if it has a notification badge. But this defeats the purpose of it a tad.

Has anyone used Textfree? I've been using it for a day now with Push and it's a solid alternative to paid SMS from AT&T. I think I will purchase the full version. Works with Push, so it's just like REAL SMS.

I suggest you check it out if you have someone with an iPhone you message regularly.

Absolutely. $99 is the subsidized price people pay to enter into a contract. There are as many as 100x more people not wanting to do that. I have a 2g as well and I've been seeing completed auctions going between $200 and $250. I'll be putting mine up soon. Don't need it anymore.

Thanks Pared. I actually found out that Beejive does support hiding the IM contents and displaying just the name on notifications. It's right under settings > Beejive, then scroll all the way down. It works as I expected.

I bought it as you can tell and I'm very pleased.

I never tried Ebay... wonder if I should try craigslist first? What should be the asking price?

As far as my phone, it's in great condition with no scratches on the screen or the phone itself.
