I think it's awful, but I'm a snob when it comes to storytelling, so go by everyone else's opinions. For me, the script is awful, the acting deserves the crappy words, Summer River is doing that model martial arts with the model choreography, and it is shot very poorly, with yet another director aping Tony Scott, only to realize that it's not so easy to make those cuts and camera moves work. And as bad as the primary characters are, the acting on the secondary characters is worse.

If you can stomach the Bionic Woman, you might be able to get this drivel down as well.

If you go into this thinking that it has to be on par with T1 or T2, then this is not the type of show. Lower your expectations just a tad and go in with an open mind. I thought it was going to be gay but it looks very interesting. It was also the pilot. The second episode is tomorrow.

I thought it was very good. I liked it a lot and will watch it every Monday night.

Yeah, if you can't just watch a show and enjoy it then you probably won't like this. Some people have to rip shows apart, rate every piece, etc...This is a action/drama throwaway fun show, not an aspiring emmy award winning show. If you watch it for what it is it can be a fun hour, otherwise you'll hate it.

If you are a true fan, then you'd know this takes place 1 1/2 after Arnold and Company destroyed skynet and the liquid terminator.

Its a continuation of the 2nd movie. Before that horrible 3rd film was released.

These are the stories in between. Hopefully it will finish where it left off.

Lots of action and a nice touch blowing John Connor into 2007. Explains a lot on why he didn't age much in Part 3.

Nice film so far, can't wait til the 2nd part tomorrow night.

except in the 3rd, they even said nothing happened since what they did in the 2nd movie.

A true fan knows that if James Cameron didn't make it, it ain't Terminator. He made it up, it's his baby. It just so happens because of the contracts he signed, and some excessive borrowing from a short story back in the day, he doesn't own his own stuff. Everything that has the Terminator label on it that James Cameron doesn't make is an elseworlds. A spinoff at best. High budget fanfiction.

And this isn't film, this is television. Bad television. They need to put the little planet logo in the lower right hand corner of the screen to really let people know what this show is.

Its always puzzling to me when someone makes a conscious decision to watch something that they know going in,with 99.9% certainty, that they're going to hate.

200 Microsoft points can't be worth that kind of torture.

Well you don't have to suffer through anymore episodes, and the rest of us can enjoy our horrendously bad, alternate reality, Terminator series.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I gave it a chance. It'd be an erroneous move to judge the show without at least watching them go through the scene work. I gave it a shot, and found it to be drivel. Is this an opinion thread, or is it only for people who like the show? If it's only for fans of the show, then I'll gladly stop posting in this thread.

That having been said, I like plenty of stuff that is crap. I'm not placing a value judgement on anyone who likes the show. It's okay to like something that isn't well done. There is no award for having every DVD on your shelf be a four star film, and I don't know anyone who fits that description besides. Liking something that isn't good is fine. The onus is on fans and non fans to be objective about the quality of the show, and tolerant of personal enjoyment or lack there of.

I liked the pilot and I'm on board for tomorrow night. Too bad they've only got nine(?) episodes in the chute and no hope for more until the writers' strike is resolved.

Yeah, because one of the things that made James Cameron's Terminator films so incredibly amazing and never to be equaled by anything ever was Arnold Schwarzenegger's immense thespian range while uttering such finely crafted lines as "Hasta la vista, baby" and "I'll be back."

I can't comment, I've only seen the hour shown tonight, but in my experience it can a) take a few episodes for a show to hit its "stride" and b) pilots are usually a little different then the real show ends up being (sometimes characters are re-cast from the pilot to the actual show).

That being said, just seems like this isn't for you. I enjoy the action, and the minor plot. Over time it may suck and I'll stop watching, but I want to give them time to actually develop some characters...one hour isn't long enough for anyone to fully flesh out a universe IMO.

I gotta say that about the only thing that disappointed me was John and Sarah traveling through time.

About 10 mintues before it happened I said to myself, "Please don't have them travel to the future."

And it did. But, I guess they wanted to make it current time. I think it would have been cooler to keep it at 1999.

Perhaps, they have hopes that this show can last four/five seasons and 2011 (the beginning of the Machine War) will be the final season.
