Man Erod, I hope you find out how to get rid of them. That would freak me out. I can't imagine having a scorpion problem where I'm killing atleast 1/day...in my house. Here in SC we're similar to Rodster in SW Florida with the "fire ants" and "wasps". Those are as common as grains of sand.

The worst we have here are bees and carpenter ants. Suddenly having snow isn't so bad.Comment

Re: Scorpion problem
Speaking of rattlesnakes. I ran over one the other day on a country road going towards my family's home. Well, I threw on the brakes, and stopped on it, thinking I'd kill it. I stick my head out the window, and the damn thing lunges up at me. Luckily, it was stuck under the wheel... or else I would have had a rattlesnake hanging from my face, lol. That was some scary stuff.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Scorpion problem
Throwaway answer:
I'd use Sub Zero and try to freeze Scorpion, just make sure to avoid the spear and the teleport attack. If you can get him down then rip his head off and hold it in the air, dangling spine and all.
Congrats on the dream house though.Comment

Re: Scorpion problem
The exterminator has sprayed the house twice, plus dusted the attack.
The problem is, scorpions are bigger and thicker than a typical insect, so the pesticide takes longer to kill one. I've found a couple of dead ones, but usually they're alive still. It can take a few hours for the pesticide to finally kill one unless you spray it directly on one.
I suspect they established during construction on that side of the house. Hopefully, they're numbers will decline as I kill them off. I know they don't breed like crazy, so if the pesticide is getting some of them, and I'm killing them, too, then I hope to get this under control.
I'm seeing one about every other day, but in the same location usually. If I can just figure out where they're coming in, I can get this solved I think.Comment

Re: Scorpion problem
Bees? They won't even sting you unless you go after one of their own.
And carpenter ants? Do those even sting or bite?
I'd rather have a scorpion problem than a yellow jacket and hornet problem. Those damn yellow jackets are all over the woods around our house. They build nests in the ground and if you step on one, game over. And the hornets are getting pissed at the bees around our place. Normally hornets arent a problem. But this year I've seen wayyyyy too many hornets.Twitter

Re: Scorpion problem
The bane of my existence is the giant cockroach. I spent my summers in GA, so I knew all about the fire ants and yellow jackets and such.
But dammit if not in the first day I'm in Auburn I see a roach the size of my damn fist. I mean, damn, I've lived in some not so nice places, so I've seen roaches, but not these genetically engineered super roaches.Comment

That sucks Erod. No advice due to living up north, but I hope you get rid of them.Comment
