Re: The New Indy starts filming
Sounds like mixed reviews
BTW just so you guys know a lot of the alien/crystal skull/sci fi physics was taken from the material of Richard C. Hoagland. Depending on your view of him this is either really groundbreaking in that his stuff is getting mainstream publicity or terrible that a charlatan was the basis for the not so great plot of this Indy film.
I haven't seen it yet but I intend to but I thought i'd pass along that info.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: The New Indy starts filming
Holly crap... I went to see this at midnight last night with a friend of mine and we left the theater with our jaws on the floor.
Not because we were speechless over how entertained we were, but because of how this script was the one picked out of the possible 4 or 5 that were turned
Downright disgrace.
I finally broke the silence by asking my buddy if we actually seen an early screening of the new X Files movie.
Congrats to George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.... They really effed this one up. I had trouble staying awake through some scenes.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: The New Indy starts filming
I saw this early this morning and it was alright I suppose but it really let me down in the end....
SpoilerI know some people didnt have a problem with the alien angle but I thought it was stupid, plain and simple. I didnt care for it and it just didnt belong imo. The story itself was weak, they did a terrible job of mixing scenes together that were on location with scenes that were shot in front of a green screen, and it was painfully obvious. Secondly, towards the end of the movie, they go down the well so to speak while the stones on the sides are retracting causing them to fall slightly, yet somehow the villans got down there with no stairs, amazing that they apparently jumped with no loss of life or injury. I guess I went into it thinking it was going to be an awesome movie and I left it thinking it was a 7/10, unfortunatly I figured it would be no less then a 9/10 and therefor was let down. If you can accept the alien thing, look past the mediocore story and the strange filming occasions then its not a bad movie, but those things mentioned really annoyed me.Comment

Re: The New Indy starts filming
From what I have read, just variations around the same thing. The one constant is the alien angle. I guess Lucas/Spielburg liked that angle... for whatever reason. I got this all from IGN by the way about a week ago. I'm sure there is more info about it somewhere.Comment

Re: The New Indy starts filming
Interesting, I would have figured that had been a religious related plot instead of the sci-fi thing.

Re: The New Indy starts filming
With the exception of one particular scene, I loved the movie. It was a fun time and that's what I was looking for. The one scene I didn't like was a little too "Tarzanish" (if you see the film, you'll know what I'm talking about).
My one complaint (aside from that stupid swinging scene) is that Lucas has this way of CGIing stuff needlessly. The groundhogs in the beginning were stupid and cartoonish.
The story definitely veers from past episodes of this series, but that's probably because they went aliens instead of religion. The line must be drawn HERE! This far, no further!Comment
