Re: James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Personally I loved every minute of it!!!
Daniel Craig is the best Bond to date, and isn't afraid to get scared and beat up. All the other Bond's were pretty boys who want to wave a little pistol.
While Craig loves contact and beating the daylights out of people. I loved this one and look forward to the 3rd one.
SpoilerThey left the door open for the next one looks like Mr. White is still on the loose and the guys they were dealing with that no one knows their organizations or names are still out there.
They might let Bond finish the job in part 3. I love all the betrayal that went on. And the usual Bond love affair lady gets offed again.
The female red head agent he was spanking up in the suite. That oil kill was just sick! Waste of a nice piece of booty!Comment

Re: James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Except of course Connery who at age whatever could still kick the **** out of you. The special forces Lazenby who studied martial arts with Bruce Lee and Dalton who did his own stunts and was never afraid of getting hurt. Other than that you are right on....Comment

Re: James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Saw it last night. Really good movie, but it wasn't as good as Casino Royale, but it was still a great Bond movie. It definitely felt different from all the other Bond movies though. As someone said it did seem a bit like the Bourne movies in that Bond didn't have much help and was more operating on his own. If there was one complaint I had though, it was that the ending felt like it got there too quickly. I thought they could have added maybe an extra scene or two before the final battle. Maybe that was because of all the non-stop action though that the I didn't see the final scene coming up that quick.
SpoilerIf there's another thing I wish they could have did, was to explain the Quantum some more. You pretty much get the basics behind them, but still don't know much about them other than they are "everywhere".Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: James Bond: Quantum of Solace
SpoilerI think there are two reasons we didn't find much out about them: 1) because Bond was on his own, more or less, so we didn't get the inside information that we usually would have gotten from MI6. 2) They'll be back in the next movie, so I'm sure they will further explain it then.Comment

Re: James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Saw it on Friday with my dad, and we both kind of feel like it needs another viewing to really comment on where it sits in the franchise.
Great action, almost too chaotic with the camera work in some parts (not all, as they really had some brilliant angles). But the story felt rushed, and there still is sooo much beneath the surface that we didn't learn about. Like Casino Royale, it left me wanting more ... except this one didn't have as much substance. And Casino Royale was more the making (or recreating) of 007, which had me expecting something different this time around.
Maybe a good parallel - although not one of the best - is License to Kill where things feel a bit different because of what's motivating 007. I'm just hoping for a more "true to form" Bond movie with the edge that Daniel Craig brings, more of the technology like we saw, and "M" actually trusting him now to do his job. I'm hoping that's what Craig's 3rd will accomplish ... as none of my hesitance with Quantum is around him.Comment

Re: James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Saw it tonight, but it's not Bond IMO. Great flick, enjoyed it very much, but nothing felt like Bond. Hard to explain, but there were no gadgets, no tricks, nothing that was Bond, it was just an action film with a guy named James Bond.
Don't get me wrong, I loved every second of it, and it flew by, but it just didn't feel like Bond.Comment
