I think you need a timeout from the forums, if nothing more then for your stupidity. Holier then thou? Try common sense, try having compassion for others, try wanting to help someone in their time of need, but then again you need to get those groceries and get home because god forbid you take time out of your ohh so important day to help someone other then yourself.

How do you know that I dont have compassion for the people who are starving and dying as you put it? We are talking about you not just ignoring someone dying right on front of you, but literally stepping over her body as she struggles to live because you need to get home from the store. If you need to constantly justify it to ease your concience then go for it, its still just as wrong no matter how many times you attempt to explain it or rationalize it.

On a side note, telling someone to, "Screw Off", only further proves that you need to take a break from the forums and proves that you arent the smartest person, if you indeed want to continue using these forums.

Was I replying to you? I think not. Thanks for your opinion though, it really means a ton to me.

Theres a difference between helping a person right in front of you, and helping someone who is poor and sick.

Its not like you have to let the person who is dying on the floor live with you and provide for them.

I just can't see the logic in letting someone right in front of you, die, when all you have to do is pick up your phone and punch in 3 digits.

The article even says that had someone called 911 sooner, she more than likely could've been saved.

That's two minutes of your life to save someone else's life. If you can't do that because of some damn groceries, I have no idea what to say to you.

This thread is so damn worthless.

And yes, so is my post, but my original point stands.

                          Of course it is.

Wow, you mean I failed your hypothetical situation?

What I really want to know is, what the hell were the employees in the store doing?

Um. So if it was you dying on the floor, then you would be satisfied if there were shoppers trying to get out of the store ASAP because they have to "do their own thing"? Oh wait, you don't like hypotheticals, so please don't answer that question, since you'll hide behind your "I don't like hypotheticals" shield.

It's ONE 911 call. It probably won't even take you 30 seconds to explain there's someone bleeding on the floor and needs help. Why is that so hard to understand? Does taking 30 seconds out of your life just to help someone... no scratch that, to CALL someone else to give help, really bother you that much?

And I don't get why the hell it has to be the employee's responsibility. If you're the first person to see a bleeding person on the ground then you should call for help. What, just because it occurred in the convenience store places the responsibility squarely on the clerk? Why can't the shoppers call the clerk if they can't call 911?

And oh, has it ever occurred to you that a dying bleeding person may not have enough strength to call for help? Since you are so hellbent that you should only give help only to people who ask for it.
