In NYC there was a steam pipe that exploded and (I'm watching it live now) there is steam and mud flying out of this pretty large gap, and it just seems like how the alien or w/e it is would come out. For anyone who lives in the tri-state area, you'll know exactly what I mean.

It's been all over the news today.

BTW, looking at the picture, I'd say that I see something that may be a glowing eye, and perhaps a nostril underneath it.

JJ Abrams is brought up to the stage wearing an INFOCOM t-shirt. He says he wanted a monster movie for so long. He went to Japan and his son was looking at Godzilla toys and he thought, ‘We need a monster movie.’ But we need something insane and intense. He says its shooting and he’s watched dailies and its better than the trailer. In the next six months we will get the real poster, the real trailer, real photos. He said “You think we’d call it Monstrous? No” He walks off stage and the Cloverfield teaser poster rolls down from the backdrop. The crowd goes wild. JJ Abrams didn’t really reveal anything. Very disappointing.

Honestly, I think that is the only thing keeping the hype up...no one knows anything about it.

Honestly, now that all the rumors are proven true by looking at the poster, its kinda lost its touch. I don't feel that excited now that I know its some sort of sea monster. I think they rushed to put out the movie poster because of all the speculation thats been going on. And honestly, if they kept it a secret for a few more months, maybe adding new trailers in upcoming movies, ie the Simpsons, and by giving out subtle hints in websites (slusho.jp) it would have brought even more excitement to the movie.

I'm only hoping that theres not 1 monster, but at least 6. If you go to the slusho.jp website it hints that "You can't drink just 6". Which I'm thinking that there are 6 monsters, and a 7th "super" monster (maybe the mother of the 6)

I think the hype will still be alive even if we know it's a sea monster.

All depends on how they reveal it, though.
