Re: TV Shows You Gave The Axe To
I love how people confuse this information. The "first season" of the 4400 wasn't even a season -- it was a miniseries. Period. The writers did not expect anything after the first few original episodes. However, since the miniseries was a tremendous hit USA decided to renew it as an actual series. Considering that, the writers have done a fantastic job with the show and it's just as good to me than ever before.Originally posted by EWRMETSMaybe the best post in OS's history. Re: TV Shows You Gave The Axe To
A couple old school shows I gave up on but the writing was on the wall so you can't blame me for giving up on them. Family Matters and Step By Step when they both moved to CBS for their final season. However in the case of Family Matters I DID watch the series finale.
Interestingly enough one other old school comedy show I SHOULD'VE given up on was Perfect Strangers. If you're old enough to remember the show disappeared from ABC's schedule without a proper send off for about 2-3 years then it returned for a short 6 or so episode run where Larry and Balkhi and their wives were living in this big house. The quality never really left but too much time had past and there was no way the show would be a ratings winner again.
I stuck to it right to the end tho. I just wish it would be put out on DVD.
It still makes me wonder how Family Matters was a spin-off of Perfect Strangers.
And it still makes me wonder how this show has never gotten fair play when it comes to reruns on N@N, Ion, TVLand. Instead, we get Roseanne, Cosby Show, and Fresh Prince basically all night, basically every night.Comment

I watched a lot of Scrubs when it first came on. Season three passed me by and I never caught up. I also stopped watching CSI like two seasons ago. I miss it but I just can't get back into it.University of Oregon

Re: TV Shows You Gave The Axe To
SPTO, I think you misunderstood.
I know HOW it's a spin-off..I just find it really, really weird how Family Matters came from a show like Perfect Strangers. It's just odd to me, considering Family Matters lasted longer, was more of a full-family comedy, etc...whereas Perfect Strangers was basically Balki, Larry, Jennifer, and Mary-Anne.
And it's funny when Mark-Linn Baker comes back as Harriette's boss in the latter end of the Family Matters run, but not as Larry.
Both shows just seemed like two completely different entities with the only commonalities being set in Chicago and Harriette working @ the Chron.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 07-17-2007, 05:55 PM.Comment

I used to watch Law and Order: SVU all the time but I think I got burned out on it since there are marathons of it all the time and it comes out at least twice everyday.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
