The Blaire Witch Project - What's Your Theory of the Ending?

Reading the Horror/Gore thread the Blaire Witch Project was brought up.

Has anyone been able to decipher what happened at the end? Or have any theories on what happened to the first, blonde, filmaker?

I've heard that you can see the Blaire Witch in the final frame of the movie but I've never seen anything.

Was it the Blonde dude that was crying out in the middle of the night or was it the witch?

Any thoughts?

P.S. I'm still kind of amazed that none of these actors ever went on to bigger and better things. They all went on the Late Night shows but I don't remember seeing any of them in any big films.

I loved BW's ending but unforunately, I cant even begin to come up with a theory on WTF happened at the very end. All I want to know is why dude was staring at the wall in the corner. Once that mystery is solved, I can die happy.

Don't you remember? Apparently when the witch was about to kill someone, she forced them to do that. That's what freaked me about the ending. That and that house out in the middle of the woods.

It's pretty obvious to me at least.

It's stated that if the witch sees you, she'll put you into a corner before killing you.

Heather and Mike hear Josh crying out so they follow him to the house, get seperated, Mike encounters the Blair Witch (I guess Josh is dead at this point), Heather can't find him and runs downstairs to see him in the corner...she knows that that means, bam the BW knocks her out.

IIRC, earlier in the movie, didn't some people mention something about when the BW was about to kill somebody, she made the others stand in the corner?

I remember seeing this movie with my brother...

I came out like "wow...". I was really taken by it.

Then my bro said "why didn't they drop the f-ing camera and pick up a rock and get ready to defend themselves?".

Maybe I need to see it again, but I found this movie boring and annoying. I enjoyed the trailers and the documentary more.

This movie had one of if not the best marketing campaign for a movie of all time...friggin' genius.

That's right! I forgot about that. And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I heard someone say that the Witch liked to kill in pairs. She'd make one of them stand in the corner while she killed the other victim. That would explain why the girl got axed first.
But then what about Josh? Wouldn't he have had to been killed with someone else?

Ah, the Blair Witch Project.

So back in my naive days as a teenager I was visiting my sister while she was at Boston University. She was and still is big into art and film. I was up in Boston for the weekend so on Fri night she told me we were going to the advanced screening of some new horror flick.

Neither of us knew anything about the movie going in, not a thing. So my sister, two of her friends and myself all saw the movie and were terrified because we had no idea if it was real or not (again the naive part). I was 17 at the time and was too shocked to even think about the fact that it might be fictional.

So the BWP will always have a special place in my heart, even though it's not nearly as good when you watch it knowing it's fiction. I don't think a movie ever had me more scared than the first time I watched it.

I remember the buzz around this flick before it came out and the mass hysteria about whether it was real or not lol.

You weren't really naive, hell a lot of people including myself were fooled about it being fiction. That was the genius of it...the entire backstory, the website, the internet rumors, etc.

I can still remember when I first saw the trailer, I just sat there like because I too thought it might have been real at the time...just made me want to see it even more.

I saw it at the show during its first week at the box office and I was also niave into thinking it was real. I remember when the movie ended, nobody got out of they're seat. An entire crowded movie theater sat there in awe after the credits finished.
