Cool, thanks for the reply. I'll probably give (or switch) my business to the first non-satellite provider that has the MLB package in HD.

Can someone explain otherwise? I'm not talking about 6 - 12 month deals either, since they are only temporary, I don't worry about them too much.
The monthly price is only a few dollars less than what I was paying for Comcast after my initial signup ended. It's just a matter of deciding what's important to you.

      My very brief review:

      Pros:
+ Box, guide and remote. This was my major beef with Comcast. Our box would constantly freeze, get stuck in the guide, was constantly laggy and the DVR just randomly crapped out so we would lose a bunch of shows. I haven't had any problems with the FIOS box or guide yet.
+ Upload speeds for FIOS are about 5x faster than those offered by Comcast. This is key for me because I work from home a lot and play in a few text sims that require a lot of uploading.

      Cons:
      - Comcast On Demand is much better. Even though I have HD On Demand with FIOS (some people don't I guess) Comcast's On demand was still much better. I don't subscribe to any movie channels and Comcast had a lot more free movies. The pay per view movies were also $1 cheaper on Comcast. This isn't a huge deal for me because I have a lot of DVD's, but I would occasionally watch some of the On Demand movies which I can't really do anymore.

I pay $45 less a month on FIOS compared to what I did on Comcast and actually have a couple things more than I did with Comcast (I now have NFL Network and Cinemax, two things I did not have before).

How's the customer service for FIOS? Dealing with Optimum Online customer service this weekend has made me want to jump out a window.

I just found out this morning that my new house is FIOS ready so I'm going to make the switch ASAP.

They're great after you get setup and all. There did seem to be a lot of confusion in regards to my billing and whatnot but in the end they did give me two months free service for my hassles so that was nice.

One thing that blew my mind was the technicians who come out for service issues will actually give you their cell phone # in case the issue crops back up, then you can call them directly to come back out. In other words once a ticket is opened it's assigned to a specific person from cradle to grave and you won't get the run around. That really kicks @ss imo and should be the industry standard.

Oh and you don't have to wait on hold long at all when calling, it was always less than 5 minutes for me.

              Thanks ODogg.

Not to be a pain, but is there anyway you can tell me exactly what package you have, how many DVR's, boxes,etc.....and how much it all comes out to a month.

I'm looking at the channel lineup now, and it looks as if I would have to pay a little more to get the YES network and Versus. That kind of sucks because its free on Optimum Online.
