I liked it as well. This was the first episode that I saw (missed the pilot).

Maybe this was mentioned earlier, but isn't that the same set that "NewsRadio" used? It sure looked like it to me.

I saw it. The jokes could be seen from a mile away and it wasn't the strongest of episodes. It's still better then some of the stuff i've seen in recent years tho.

The best part was the drinking game at the restaurant LOL!

Yeah, I thought it was funny, but your quote is what I think is wrong with the show. Too much sophomoric humor delivered by the supporting cast. The weather girl (the one who likes to relax with strangers) gets worst every week-the shower scene with Ryan was cringe inducing. Willard continues to get bad material. His "anchor tutoring" of Gary(Crezyzewski ) was just not funny. His on air commentary is better but still needs a lot of work. The strongest supporting character is Ryan(besides the little girl) and it looks like they'll waste him by fawning over Weather Bimbo. Make no mistake about it, Heaton and Grammer carry the show. They have an amazing amount of charisma while anchoring the local news, and their chemistry with each other and their little girl is a sitcom rarity. Gracie the little girl is gold.

More Gracie, better lines for Fred.

The supporting cast of this show is bringing it down IMO. The production manager guy is funny, but the other 3 people in the newsroom really decrease the show's value to me. The little girl is pretty good I guess.

I think Fred Willard is pretty good. I've always liked him but he's being saddled with bad material as Jaybee noted. I like the Gary character. He seems to be the guy that wants to be something but is in reality a guy who doesn't fit in and is the butt of jokes. Montana on the other hand is a waste of space. All she is a bimbo and not even a bimbo with heart she's just a bimbo....

Thank goodness Grammer and Heaton get most of the airtime.

The event was the Fox Eco-Casino Fall Party, a fund raiser for Habitat for Humanity and the Nature Conservancy. Chips were redeemable for Fox paraphernalia.

I've missed every episode so far. I started watching the first couple minutes last night but had some other things to do. Quite frankly, Patricia Heaton annoys me too much to watch this show. She always plays a very bitchy character and between her and Raymond, I can't watch that show anymore either. Maybe I'll try again later but her schtick is too repetitively annoying for me.

I hope it starts to get as witty and sharp as Wings was. That's really what I'm looking for, and don't know if I'll get it.

"Wings" never hooked me. It was alright-I may have seen a total of 20 or so episodes.

Wow, it's been 5 weeks since the last post about this show. This week's "raccoon" episode was the best of the season-still some one liners that fell short, but overall a good episode. The raccoon from all angles was hilarious.

i've removed this from my DVR. despite liking both of the stars I find the humour very shallow and just not very funny. the writers for this show are pretty much lacking IMO. it's too cookie cutter humor, very predictable and lame IMO.

I understand. I'm going to give the show a lot of leeway because of the two stars, the little girl and their chemistry, but I'm probably in the minority. The show's scheduled return is a week from this Wednesday (FEB 26th).
