    Re: Damages

I've been watching this religiously this season. I'm still trying to figure whats up with Frobisher. Why is his story important...

Bad news is this may get canceled because it costs too much unless DirectTV picks up part of the bill like they did Friday Night Lights.

I just read that. And because the 3rd season's filming is done with the season finale airing April 19th, the series would have no real closure.

        Re: Damages

I haven't watched one episode this season. I have them on the DVR, but I haven't watched them because once I started, it will be hard to stop. I need to get a few days in a row where I can watch them all.

Wow, one episode left. Easily the best of the three seasons. Martin Short was superb in the first dramatic performance I've ever seen him in. Unfortunately the odds that DirectTV will do a Friday Night bailout are slim, so next Monday will probably be the series finale.

“There’s nothing in this for DirecTV or anyone else,” states the site. “ ‘Friday Night Lights’ was no star for NBC on Friday nights prior to the arrangement with DirecTV, it was a total rock star compared to ‘Damages.’ Also, DirecTV makes a market in football exclusives (aka NFL Sunday Ticket) so there was at least thematically something that made sense.”

Also DirectTV will be showing The Wire reruns starting this summer, complicating it's involvement even more.

Great finale, and it wouldn't be a bad series finale either-a lot of stuff happened and a lot was resolved. Some might call the last show a bit contrived and melodramatic, but it packed a serious entertainment punch. There wasn't a dull moment in it. Just hope it was only the season finale, but it's a long-shot that there will be any more Damages.

I enjoyed the finale. It looks like they knew this might be it somewhat. Frobisher finally got his for Ellen's boyfriends murder, and leaving things out to let you interpret what happens from the end. I liked it as a series and season finale. It sucks that there probably won't be anymore though.

A less ambivalent series/season finale then Brotherhood, and a better wrap up. Glad to see Timothy Olyphant making an appearance. Damages fans will walk away very satisfied, last show or not.

                  Re: Damages

I (WE) spoke to soon. DirectTV has picked up the series for two more years. The budget for the show has been slightly reduced and the episodes have gone down from 13 to 10, but they are a full uninterrupted hour , 17 minutes longer than the ad ladened FX version. They will air on Direct TV channel 101. The bad news? I'm with U-Verse right now. Oh well, I'll be in line to get their Season 4 DVD.

Executive producer Glenn Kessler says DirecTV is "encouraging us to take things even further than we did on FX,"
