If you compare hardware part to part, Mac's are more expensive. But don't forget about the more important aspect, which is software. IMO, OS X and the iLife apps make price difference worth it. The other thing is that most PC notebooks, especially the cheaper ones, seem to look so bulky and cheaply built. I've yet to see a PC notebook that looks smother than my old Powerbook, which was designed in 2003.

Re: Apple Macbook Pro Question
How are Mac's with wireless internet?
Do their batteries last long when not plugged in?
How well does the video chat work?
And if I buy a basic version would I still get all the cool adobe stuff like photo shop?
Finally, would a basic package come with things like iDVD, garage band, etc.?
Battery life varies depending on model and what you're using it for. On my new Macbook, I get about 5 hours of life (mainly using iTunes, surfing the web, typing, nothing more processor intensive).
Video chat is great. All laptops hvae a built-in camera at the top. I've used it and never had a problem.
Photoshop won't come with your basic mac, but the iLife programs will (iTunes, iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie, Garageband, etc.)
As for cost, I got the mid-level macbook (2.16 Ghz dual core, 1 gb ram, 8X superdrive) with an educational discount for $1200 + tax.....and I got an ipod video for $50 bucks with the student deal they ran over the summer. So, I thought it was a great deal.

Re: Apple Macbook Pro Question
Meh, watching another guy on my computer isnt exactly my idea of a good time :P
But Im leaving for Australia in January for a year (Im going to be taking my Masters there) and it will be a great, cheap alternative to calling long distance on the phone all the time--video and phone wrapped into one!PSN: Peji911Comment
