Of course you can(But its Very rare and unlikely and the bankers are investing with you, not just loaning the money) and like you said there are a ton of variables involved, but you are not going to be able to sneak up on anyone by doing so. Believe me, a large multi-national company would know exactly who was coming at them with a takeover bid.

Nevermind, this is a TV show and not a global finance class, I'll just watch this play out. But I'm skeptical that this show could be jumping the shark soon.

Isnt it also possible that she had some previous ownership in the company? just for being in the family?

She probably had some and I suspect she has been taking shares little by little over time. Her father thinks she is dumb, but she obvious has done some studying. She did it correctly, using 5 bank accounts, she probably bought up the shares.

i re watched the casket episode and did some "pondering" what if Ben was in the casket? since ben seems to be "on the way out" as Lock seems to be taking his spot, and jack would also not consider him friend or family, and maybe Jack viewed Ben as his way back to theisland so now he died and Jack feels hopeless. at the end of the casket episode is when he tells kate he "needs to get back"

That seems like more realistic since I cant see jack trying to kill himself after finding out sawyer, michael, jin,etc died.

All your points are valid, but I think that's too obvious - I think that's what the writers wanted everyone to think at first.

            - Jack says the deceased is "neither friend or family"
            - Kate gets pissed and says "Why would I go?" when asked if she'll join Jack at the funeral
            - Obviously Ben has no family or friends on the mainland.

It just seems to simple and obvious for the Lost writers but ya never know.

true, and also i am confused as to when ben was in the desert and where that fits into the chain of events. beofre/after the oceanic 6,etc knowing that would also say alot about the storyline.

Re: ****Official LOST Season 4 Discussion (Contains Spoilers)**

The only thing about the "obvious" point is that sometimes I think we forget to give ourselves a lot of credit.

There are 11 million viewers of Lost and I'd bet that at least 75% of them don't really try to dig deep into the story. Most of them just take it one episode at a time. We aren't those people.

For example, this group and another message board I post in were aware that Claire and Jack were related a season before it was revealed on Lost. It was something I remember researching into as we all tried to figure out what Christian was doing in Australia.

It ended up being a big reveal on Lost but for me, and quite a few others, it was just another day in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. We already knew.

Perhaps, we've already figured it out. Ben goes by a lot of names and maybe it really is him under a different name. Maybe. It's either that or maybe it's Michael. He's been going under a different name too and we already know that "J" (like Johnson) was a part of the person's name.

Ah, forget it, they've got us confused.

It's definitely after the Oceanic 6 are off the Island but before Sayid's flashforward (killing people for Ben).

Unless you mean you'd like to know where Ben and Sayid's relationship fits into Jack's flashforwards. I'd be interested in knowing that too.

the first initial of the person in the casket is irrelevant if we think it is ben because he has so many aliases (sp?)...

Right. That's my point. If it's Ben then his many different names would cover up any holes in the story.

2 more days. To pass the time, check out this Lost quiz.

I scored a 2086 out of 3900, primarily due to having watched all four seasons in the last 2 months.

I gave up after 15 questions. I love the show but I couldn't tell you what happened in specific episodes.
