Tool, AIC, Muse, Shinedown, RHCP, Papa Roach(The newer stuff is great rock music, no more raprock), Hurt(HOPEFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Stone Sour, Slipknot(meh), Nickelback(ugh), and a handful of others will be in steady rotation on classic rock stations.

Good list. I'd add Kanye West, Eminem and Snoop Dogg to the list.

Laughable, except for Kid Rock. Kid was mainstream enough that some of his tunes -- especially that cheesy, HORRIBLE ballad with Sheryl Crow -- will have staying power.

Try Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Nickelback, Creed, Matchbox 20, U2, R.E.M., Black Crowes, newer Aerosmith, Metallica, Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers.

        Take care,

None of those acts, including the list to which you added, ever will be played on a classic rock station in any of our lifetimes. Classic hip-hop, if that format is created, but never classic rock.

I could see classic hip-hop emerging as a format, though.

Well some stations already play classic hip-hop/rap from the 1980's.

Yes, it's a bit of a newish radio format called Urban Oldies.
