I liked Rebecca when she first came on, but she got more and more ridiculous as the seasons went on and it made me hate when she was part of an episode. Much like Ross on Friends. So maybe I shouldn't say that I liked the Diane years better than the Rebecca years, I just liked Diane a lot better than Rebecca.

That's true, too. Every episode that focues on Rebecca was just her crying the whole episode, which got pretty old pretty quick. I used to love Kirstie Alley when I was growing up, though.

I loved the relationship with Sam and Diane. If done right, there can be great humor with sitcom relationships. Yes, the Ross/Rachael things became ridiculous, but other sitcom relationships were a blast. Jerry and Elaine comes to mind...."Can't you two realize that you love each other?"

IMO, Cheers was a great show during the Diane and Coach years. During the Rebecca/Woody years it became a good sitcom that got a lot more silly. After season 4, they started having more and more shows at different locations with some pretty ridiculous plots. Still a good sitcom, but no longer a great show.

No way! Woody was far more entertaining than coach. And yes the show did get sillier but for the better.

Some classics moments off the top of my head:

- Sam impersonating Colcourt picking up trash when he was in jail
- Sam having a pick-up contest with Henri
- Woody getting lost in his girlfriends front yard
- Cliff on Jeopardy
- Norm getting a job as a beer taster
- Carla sleeping with Paul
- War between Norm and Cliff that resulted in Norm getting a monkey to enter the bar dressed as a mail carrier
- Fraser running with scissors
- Woody lying in the middle of the street to hold a parking spot for Sam's Corvette.
- "Cheers" war with that other bar

I could go on and on. But if I try to remember any classic moments from the Sam/Diane shows I can't really think of any. The only one that comes to mind is when Cliff went to that gala with Diane and tried to hit on her inside the car by singing "Look at me. I'm as helpless as a kitten in a tree...".

But the Jerry-Elaine thing wasn't a drawn out dramatic relationship. It was one or two shows and that was it. That's why I loved Seinfeld. There were no relationship 'dramas'. Only hilarious moments where one of them had a disfunctional relationship. Not some serious, 'slit my throat' crap that the Office is starting to tread into.

On Pam and Jim...I think it's possible that any humor between the two of them could be flattened by them getting together.

Break up immediately and act like it never happened.

I really don't care how they do it but put it back to how it was before. If their relationship was funny I wouldn't mind. But so far it hasn't been. There hasn't been one humorous moment between them as sweethearts. And if you add something to a comedy that isn't funny, what's the point? Might as well make a spin-off called "Jim and Pam" where they can have 30 minute episodes of them starting into each others eyes.

I'm not sure what to make of that reply by the pizza maker. At first it seems like they are talking about real life, then they segue into talking about the characters coming in. Is it a real denial or just a humor skit type response? Also, I like how the 50% coupon is real, LOL
